My name is Elizabeth and I'm 24 years old. I live in Kentucky (Louisville, to be precise). I have a BA in psychology and did two minors in English with a concentration in literature and Medieval Studies. I studied French for 5 years and have experience with Japanese, German, and Latin. One of my dreams is to translate Medieval Latin and French manuscripts. The other is to eventually become an archaeologist.Currently, I work with toddlers as a teacher in a daycare. It's not exactly my dream job, or the best use of my degree, but it works for now. I am going back to school in August to work towards a degree in education so that I can become a third grade teacher. I also plan on doing another major in either microbiology or anthropology. I do enjoy some aspects of my job such as being able to teach my children and the joy that I receive when they finally catch on to what I've taught them. I also enjoy the smiles, hugs, and kisses that I get from my kids when I come to work in the mornings.
I am an avid reader and have been since I was a child. I generally read anything except westerns, romance, and inspirational/Christian books. I quite enjoy horror, fantasy, historical fiction, and mysteries. I have also gotten into the Quirk classics recently. Right now, I am reading Android Karenina. Classic literature is another favorite of mine with Edgar Allan Poe, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, HP Lovecraft, Victor Hugo, and Gaston LeRoux being among my favorites.
I look forward to making new friends and taking part in book discussions.
-Elizabeth
Hiya, I'm Jack and I'm from Dublin in Ireland. I love music and my favourite book genre is mystery/thriller. I haven't done much challenges before so it's kinda new for me. I've promised myself I'd read more this year so I'm sure all these challenges will help.bI'm 14 years old so I'm only a young little person! I think I'll enjoy being a part if this group.
Hi! I'm Lori although most my friends call me Wags! I work as a Children's Librarian in SD so I read All. THE. TIME. For several months of the year I'm reading intermediate and young adult fiction so I can actually practice what I preach with the kiddos. I counter that with my 'adult' reading by pretty much tackling anything that strikes a cord at the time. So I read pretty much everything. My escape books would fall more toward paranormal romance. I've never really gotten involved in groups or challenges for that matter, so think its time! I challenged myself to 100 books, which may be light. But I'll know better then for next year.
Hi everyone! I'm Mabeelle and I live in Belgium. I love reading but not as much as I'd like to. This is why I'm here. I challenged myself to read more this year, so why not have fun while doing it. My favourite genres are YA Science fiction, Mystery and Fantasy.
Hi my name is Nancy. I live in a suburb of NYC in Westchester County, NY. I read almost anything although I really enjoy mystery/suspense, contemporary fiction, and YA the best. I'm new to challenges but excited to join in!
Hi Jack welcome to the group, I am sure you will some challenges to help you in your quest to read more this year, we are a friendly bunch so don't worry about asking questions.
Mabeele and Nancy welcome to the group, the challenges are a fun way to read more, I hope you join in.

I'm a newcomer who is keen to have a go.
♥Any thing else you would like to share!
I'm a mummy who loves to curl up with a Cupcake, a Latte and a good book when my little ones (I have 2) are fast asleep. It's the only time I get to read :D
Welcome, Marie! The older my two get, the more time I seem to have to read, but I miss them being little. Enjoy them while they are young and have fun reading too!Welcome to GoodReads and to the group! Enjoy, but be careful, GoodReads and reading challenges are addicting.
♥You name? Ariel♥Where are you from? Florida
♥Your favorite Genre? I love pretty every type of genre.
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer? I've done a couple before so I'm not a newcomer but I am not a pro.
Hi all! After peeking in a few times, I finally broke down today and joined the group. I really don't need another challenge but I couldn't resist!I live in India. I read pretty much most sub-genres of romance. My comfort genre is Contemporary-Romance. I'm trying to broaden my horizons - so moving away from Romance and out to Fantasy. I just love discovering a new genre - all the new authors and series just waiting to be read *droool*.
Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of this group and hopefully I will manage my challenge addiction this year.
Hi, my name is Barbara and I live in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. This is the town where Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra was born in 1547.I am an engineer and travel a lot for work, always with my nook loaded with books. I like almost any genre, except for spy novels. Tom Clancy bores me to tears.
I'm looking forward to participating in some challenges, I hope they'll lead me to new authors I wouldn't pick for myself.
♥You name? Cassie ♥Where are you from? England
♥Your favorite Genre? PNR
♥Are you a pro at challenges or a newcomer? Sort of both, recently got into them big style this year :D
♥Any thing else you would like to share! I'm a book addict :/ I love like heavy metal :D

It's great to have you all!! ♥
It's great to have you all!! ♥
I haven't been getting notifications either. Curse you GR!Anyways, Ha!
Welcome to the group Barbara and Cassie!
Hy everyone, I'm Dijun, 23 yo, French but living in London at the moment. I read since I'm very small but stopped at the university because of the lack of time. I'm now forcing myself to get back in the book world and it does work at the moment. I love Goodreads, I love Challenges and I thought it would be a nice group to join.
I don't really have a favourite genre though I read a lot of British/French/Japanese litterature. (18/19 century for Brit/Fr, more contemporary for Jpn). Maybe because I'm a 5 year student in Japanese-English languages and Business.
that's all, I hope I'll have fun =)
Hi guys! Newbie here:) I go by the nick Ananda and I'm from Macedonia (a small country in South East Europe). I enjoy chick lit, historical fiction and thriller/mystery. I'm not sure if I'm a challenge pro, but I love doing challenges. I remember I didn't manage to finish only one last year due to my pregnancy:), and I still feel a bit bad about it:) I'm happily married for almost 9 years and have two boys, one is 7 years old and the other angel is 5 months. Besides reading, I love science and am currently working on my PhD on the field of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies and work at the Uni in my country. No matter how busy life gets, I always try to read couple of books a week (yeah, sometimes they are novella's LOL) yet I do my best. Looking forward to chatting to all of you and to your book recommendations. Cheers!
Hey Ananda, so you're from Macedonia and though I know the country, I wonder...what languages do you talk there? =) I had a look at your profile page and it's pretty but it doesn't look like one of the family of languages I know. (I'm a bit of a language fan.)
Hey Dijun, nice to meet you:) We speak Macedonian language, it's in the group of Slavic languages:) Here's a link from Wikipedia explaining more about these languageshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_l...
I myself am a language fan, studied English, German and Spanish:)
Hello. I'm Tea and I'm from Croatia.I don't have favorite genre. I'm more of mood reader.
I started collecting challenges four months ago. Became kinda addicted :)
Just give me book, hot chocolate (or anything else with chocolate) and cozy chair and you won't know I'm there. :)
Hi am caramel currently in-between countries due to work commitments. Sucks cause i miss my family and friends back in Aussie. I love all genre's and am a newbie at challenges so looking forward to doing them and kinda apprehensive also since i tend to start things all energized then i sort of get distracted by real life. So hopefully i will get to complete whatever challenges i take part in *fingers crossed*
