David wrote: "Brenda, Have you seen the reviews for The Thomas Berryman Number. Possibly one of Patterson's worst. At least you will get a feel for the general standard of the books that I read LOL"

Hmm! It's one I own, and it's not too long, so thought I'd get it out of the way! Will see...I might pick something else that you have, that I have too:) Thanks for the heads up!

message 102: by David (new)

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments I see that I gave it 3 stars...must have been in a generous mood. My only memory of it was that it was average. You've just about read everything else I've read!

Just found another one which I have and you've read... The Postcard Killers, so I might do that one instead/as well!

message 104: by David (new)

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments The Postcard Killers is more typical Patterson than The Thomas Berryman Number. Berryman is interesting in that it was Patterson's first published book. Shows his starting point - the evolution of a successful author from humble literary beginnings! I'm off to buy books LOL. Have a great day/weekend!

Wonderful David! Looks great as usual:) I can't take to Carol Higgins Clark either...her Mum is a great author, but not so Carol!

message 137: by David (new)

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments Thanks Brenda :) Our taste in books is similar as always! I agree that Higgins Clark Snr is a much better writer. Zapped is the only Carol book I have ever read, but I am guessing it is a representative sample based on your thoughts and some other reviews I have read. The plot in Zapped is thinner than a wafer.

Onwards and upwards :)

You only need to read one really bad one, to not read anymore of that particular author, don't you:)

message 139: by David (new)

David (tasbooklover) | 151 comments Agreed totally :)

Also, thanks Brenda for the recommending the Michael Koryta book. I have added it to my TBR list. I need a few ideas for horror month :)

Knowledge, I'm not going to finish The Shadow of the Wind this month :( But I will finish it, as I'm thoroughly enjoying it :) I'm up to page 129. I've had a very busy month, I'm afraid, and have only finished 5 books, but only 2 of them have been October's challenge!
