As the story starts in this book, two friends Claire and Kam are walking outside of their school thinking of something to cheer up their friend Massie, who is upset about loosing her friends and the Pretty Committee. They bring her mood music, gummies, and Keds. When they get to Massie's house they find her in her closet going through her clothes. Turns out she is not in need of help for the break up of the Pretty Committee, but she needs help seperating her clothes for donating to the needy people.

Massie never really has any intentions of helping anyone. She just wants to stay on top by throwing a huge party, and she cares more about her reputation than having actual friends, which is why she decides to hire friends.
