Ellen (karenvirginiaflaxman) | 115 comments It appears that this book also has multiple listings that can be merged. Thanks!

OK. I see what you mean, Vicky. Thanks!

Ellen (karenvirginiaflaxman) | 115 comments OK, now here's a problem that I'm not able to solve. I tried to add the hardback edition of this book by filling out the combine-books form as follows:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/new?aut...

However, Goodreads won't combine the hardback with the other editions (paperback, Kindle, etc.) that show up on this page:

http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

Instead, a book by a different author comes up, one by Perl, that has the same first part of the title, minus the "Hemingway's first wife" stuff after the colon. Now what to do? I'm finding the "combine editions" page very confusing; when it opens it shows all kinds of books, but not the book I'm trying to work with. Anybody know what to do in a case like this one? Thanks so much!

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments The form you linked is the Add a New Book page, I'm not sure what you mean by "combine-books form."

When you add a new book, even if it's by clicking the "add a new edition" link from the Editions page it will not automatically combine and you have to do that from the combine page.

Thanks, Vicky. I mean the page that comes up when you click on the "Combine" link. When that opens up it displays a huge list of books that have nothing to do with the book I'm working with. So how does one find the right editions to combine? Very difficult interface, frankly. Thanks.

The combine page has ALL the books by that author. There are filters (by initial letter) or a search filter to narrow things down.

Yes, I saw that once I scrolled further down the page, Rivka. Thanks!
