Mary (marycalmes) | 29 comments I have had this happen in the past and was wondering about it. My book comes out on Sept. 26th but there are already two low ratings on the book as of today, 9/16. So do those ratings stay even though those individuals have not yet read the book giving it a 3.50 rating already or is there a way to delete them? It would be nice for them to go away but just knowing one way or another will be helpful as well. Thank you.

This is a policy issue, not anything librarians have any control over. See various discussions in the Feedback group, including this one.

Mary (marycalmes) | 29 comments Thank you for the answer Rivka, at least I know the answer now. It's annoying but you were a great help. :)

Gerd | 1050 comments Well, it's been said that some people might use the rating feature to order their priorties for the books they intend to buy/read.

In the end the rating is just one small aspect of it all and the reviews received once the book _is_ out are what counts.
