Kate R (katetheshortone) Welcome everyone! I'm sooooooooooooooo glad you joined. I'm really psyched that so many people have joined and I'm glad you like the idea of this group. I'm so happy we all have so many things in common.
~God bless,
God's Swordmaiden

Mary Findley | 42 comments We were able to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter and watch the Muppet Christmas Carol, and yes, I'm sure I ate too much, but it was so fun to get a chance to cook and bake. Living in the truck, we have to eat out most of the time or live on snack foods. That might sound fun until you actually do it for months at a time. I know this group is mostly involved with medieval stuff, but I am trying to work on a Fantasy/SciFi/Steampunk graphic novel and hope I can get some input on illustrations. Please check out my link

and let me know what you think.

Kate R (katetheshortone) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrcoJ-... During this Christmas season think of the real meaning of Christmas. Christ's birth. He came here to earth, to suffering and sorrow to join us and give us salvation. This song just about sums it all up. It is the most beautiful Christmas song and it tells us the true meaning of Christmas. Post as your status if you believe in the real meaning of Christmas.

I love this song! I heard and my heart melted. Everytime I listen to it it makes my hearts soar. Please check it out.

Jaye hello ladies, thought i should introduce myself as i just joined the group :) i'm a married home-maker and avid book-reader, who is a complete home-body and big tea-drinker ;) i met my Creator a few years ago, and my life was completely changed. i love to write children's literature and had a story of mine self-published a few years back while i was living in the states. i'm always looking to connect and make true friendships with fellow believers and bookworms, as i do live such a quiet life :) i love to read beautifully written novels, children's literature and the classics: books filled with life, love and hope. some of my favourite books include the Bible, the hobbit, jane eyre and the snow child by eowyn ivey. i love listening to music and my favourite musicians include leah smith, amel larrieux, norah jones, rebecca st james, corinne bailey rae and tchiakovsky :)

What's your name?
Hi, I'm Rebecca

What are some usernames/nicknames you use?
I am not one for nicknames. I often find the long version more resplendent

Do you have a blog, or perhaps blogs? If you like, you can share the link(s)!
I do not currently have any blogs

Where can you be found on besides GoodReads?
I found this group while looking at the groups my friend was in. Sadly, it looks as though it has not been active for a while. I hope it does not stay that way.

Are you homeschooled or do you go to Christian/private/public school?
Homeschooled

What are your favourite book genres?
My favorite genres would include, adventure, mystery/suspence, historical, (clean)young adult. I love Christian fiction books.

What are some of your favourite books?
The River of Time series (can't wait for Deluge to come out!)
The Divergent trilogy
The Outcast: a modern retelling of The Scarlet Letter

What are some of your favourite authors?
Lisa Bergren
Diann Mills
Lynn Austin
Jordyn Redwood

Do you like listening to music? If so, what are some of your favourite bands/songs?
Way to many to list, but I mostly listen to Christian music

Do you like writing? Are you currently working on a book/story? Have you ever completed and/or published any of your works?
I have come to accept that I am not gifted with writing. I have a few unoriginal and lame start to stories that never went anywhere because I did not plan where the story was going. And I dislike writing outlines.

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) Hey Rebecca! Welcome to the group, you are right sadly it hasn't been very active lately.
I'm also homeschooled!

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello Elizabeth! It is great to meet you!

lol I just realized I answered the fourth question incorrectly. I thought it ask how I found the group. *facepalm*
So, besides Goodreads I can be found on Google+

message 62: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) Haha, that's okay.

So you've read Allegiant right? What did you think? Did you like the ending?

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

I both loved and hated the ending!! It took me a while to get over that book. Ultimately I thought it was a great yet tragic ending to the series.

message 64: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) Yeah, I agree. I'm pretty impressed with Mrs. Roth for having the guts to (view spoiler)
I've always said it's one of the unwritten laws of writing (view spoiler)
Authors (authors rarely ever do) who break that law almost always have the best books.
I loved her books so much more then Hunger Games and she didn't even have to have the love triangle to make it interesting.
