hi mariana!
Hi I'm Jessica. I have just recently become an avid reader so I'm sort of catching up. I just got a Kobo Touch last month and love reading on it! Right now I enjoy reading strictly paranormal and dystopian books - anything without those elements does not seem to hold my attention very well. I tried some popular mysteries, like Janet Evanovich, but it just really doesn't seem to work for me without anything paranormal or dystopian lol. So here I am, seeing what other people with similar interests are reading!Oh and I am 25, but I mostly like Young Adult books - grade 9-12 or some geared to 18-25 yr old. I do like the Sookie Stackhouse novels - I think those are adult ones. I LOVE L.J. Smith - so far - like I said I'm catching up. Also, I'm working on writing my own paranormal novel. We shall see how it turns out!
Music - Avril Lavigne is my favorite :) from the time I first heard 'Complicated' on the radio in high school. And then Taylor Swift is great too.

I'm not sure, I can read 5 books at a time, and I have. Right now I'm reading Reluctant Dom as well as The Awakening by LJ Smith, because the new season's started and I read the book a year ago and forgot most stuff, so I'm refreshing my memory!

Recently? how so? and what's a Kobo touch? I totally agree with u anything with NADA romance doesnt hold my interest. I usually find myself skimming action books to get to those very few romantic parts at the end of every other chapter.

I started out with Twilight after watching the movies and got back into reading for the first time since probably... middle school (other than informational books for college). I totally skim action too if it is more than a couple lines long lol.The Kobo touch is an ereader kind of a like a Nook touch or just a touch version of Kindle - speaking of I just saw they are actually coming out with a Kindle Touch in November... so if you have seen the ad for that, it is essentially the same thing. The Kobo seems like it should be more popular in Canada than here in the U.S. where I am - it's made by a Canadian company I believe and they sell it at Chapters. I had to get mine at Best Buy online because no one sells it here anymore - it was launched with Borders and then they shut down. I just liked it better than the Nook and Kindle after looking at all the youtube reviews. I have really loved it so far for the month I have had it.
For the writing - I'm working on a YA paranormal romance about a modern day... paranormal girl... part of the book is her finding out what she is (that part is a little cliche I know). It has kind of a different setting - not at all the typical small town we read about in a lot of these novels. It is very fitting though. So that is all I can say right now, but she is not a vampire or angel or a half-blood of something. All the other details shall have to wait until I am finished and I will let a few people read it and tell me what they think :)

I totally skim acti..."That sounds interesting! i've never heard of a Kobo touch, i live in Ohio but the closest borders that's near me is an hour away from my house i'm not sure if it closed down or not because i just always go to barnes and noble that's like 10 minutes away :)

well, when youre famous, ill be able to boast about the fact that i was one of the first people to know the storyline of ur novel, and also to now YOU personally!
Glad someone already finds it interesting :) As much as these characters are living in my head I think I have to try. I have a few literary agents in mind from research I have been doing, but I know I will probably have to send it to a lot of people. Pretty much all the publishers I have found that accept unsolicted manuscripts (people without a literary agent)do not seem to do anything more for the author than what the author could do themselves self-publishing. I could always self-publish, but I think I would prefer traditional publishing if possible. The publishing world is tough, so we will see how it goes.Now this is all way ahead because I am not nearly done, but I work on it everyday.
Why have I already looked into literary agents you may ask - Well, let me start a little further back. It all started with a few connected dreams that kept replaying in my head. That's what they all say, right? lol Well, I thought if I wrote them down, they would be out of my head and would not continue consuming all my thoughts. Nope. From that I began imagining not only the dreams, but new daydreams of the characters in other scenes. I thought, if these characters are this real to me, maybe I should really do something with it. Maybe other people will enjoy reading their story too. Then I just figured I would check out literary agents toward the beginning to see if this was something they were interested in picking up. I have always written little short stories, but this is the first of this magnitude.
Dang, I keep writing these super long posts.

u know, when a book doesnt end the way i want it like if the main char chooses the wrong guy in the end, i imagine she's me, and i choose the other guy in the love triangle and start up on our whole romance!

oh.my.gosh me too! or just if the book doesn't end the way i want it or a scene i put the book down and imagine myself as the main character and change the scene! :D

i've read shadow falls and liked it, dint wanna read wolfsbane cuz shay get the girl and not ren and really liked Misguided Angel! I love the series! i get excerpts every two weeks 4 the new book!

tell u the truth, misguided angel is the worst book of the series i stopped reading half way cuz the POV changed to some other guy and then to Mimi. dont read wolfsbane, calla ends up with Shay

aha i know i was too, (but my mom really was going to name her that and she had 4 miscarriages before me :/ ) and for the strike across the words < s > . . . < / s > replace the dots with your words and delete all the spaces :)! Shay is too nice i love Ren though.

Ren is my favorite too! i felt so bad for him at the end of Nightshade! Shay is just too nice or something i don't know what it is theres just nothing special about his personality i guess.

I know! Calla is all of those things but at least she can stand up and fight for herself, Shay can't Ren can therefore i like Ren way better! And he and Calla have more chemistry i think. I love how Andrea Cremer made the characters names have meanings that match their personalitys though!

you have the best descriptions that are totally accurate! Ren is WAY better than Shay so much more interesting and way better for Calla!

that their names match their personalitys? she said she made them match their personalitys cause people would always call her something else (i forget what) so she decided to look up the meaning and it meant smart or something like that and she said she was ok with it as long as it was nice she took it as a compliment so she matched her characters names with their personalitys look up the meaning of the name "Calla"
