Avoid Maciek, he's got almost nothing but bad words to say about Koontz, not sure why he hangs around here.
Good luck with your tour, take pics to share! :)

He hasn't hung around here for quite a while now.

That's really cool, Paula, I look forward to hearing about it. I wish I could afford the time and money to do it myself. From where will you be embarking on your journey?

He hasn't been at HA for awhile either, not that I miss him, cuz I don't.
wow that's mean sounding. lol

Nah, just honest. He would appreciate that. I do miss him.

Maciek? That name sounds familiar.

And Maciek just keeps it interesting. He likes the debate, I believe. Good guy.

I do love a good debate, although I accept my defeat with women am a bit of a stubborn cow when it comes to Guys! haha
I miss Maciek :-(
Paula, I asked this in the Introduce Yourself Thread before I found this one...
I'm just curious which Dean Koontz title you will be taking with you on tour that you're planning in a few years. Will there be more than one Dean Koontz title?

Your pending visit to Cali sounds terrific! I too look forward to hearing about it, and hopefully seeing some photos.
A book I would consider a 'must read' for you is The Book Lover's Guide to Florida. Being a Floridian for more than 30 years, I have visited many of the sites/homesteads in this book. From the back cover; "Here is the book lover's literary tour of Florida . . . of writers, books and literary sites . . . use the book as a travel guide . . . or as a guide to what to read next time . . .."

Although I disagreed with much of what Maciek wrote, I muchly enjoyed our heated debates (I am wont to argue for pure pleasure ☺) His debates were always intelligent, well thought out critiques of what he had read.

Would you like him to come back?
Would you like him to come back?

ummm . . . sorta deleterious to my blood pressure, haha

For what does "DNF" stand?
Maciek is considering a visit to Koontzland. He has left his group comments at exactly 666 for quite sometime and joked about that, but the real reason he's stopped commenting is he's not impressed with Koontz anymore - likes his 1985-1995 stuff the best. You never know when Maciek will break his 666 and surprise us :-)
Oh wait 2011, that was just a couple of months ago, so are you saying you couldn't finish 77 Shadow Street? Which Koontz book is marked as DNF? I am so confused.
I know what you mean. Don't worry, I'm not a fan of The Face either. I loved Darkness Under the Sun but I was disappointed in What the Night Knows :-) will have to give it another chance sometime. Actually, I liked Hideaway which kinda surprised me - will have to read that one again sometime too.
Well, don't give up on Koontz just because you didn't like Odd Thomas. In March, we are having Koontz March Madness. Now is the time for you to re-establish your Koontz enthusiasm and read 3 Koontz books in one month. To join the challenge, visit the group homepage and look below our currently reading books and above the discussion board.
I am new to this group, have been reading Dean for about 15 years now and read every published book and a few comics up to date.
I cant hear a bad word said about him, even when I`m criticising him myself, I then get angry at myself, haha!
I plan to do my very own little tour were I will head to Southern California and try visit as many of the places, beaches, motels as possible feautured throughout my favourite books!
