Chere' Brady Just a thought that Dickey changed his writing style and that I did not enjoy Pleasures (stopped reading it). I did enjoy the Gideon series. Just didn't know what happened for him to go so RAW.

Victoria I actually didn't mind Pleasure, I could not get into the Gideon series at all. I didn't enjoy this work too much. It was just such a departure from his earlier works. I miss the "Cheaters" and Liar's Game" Dickey

Debra Odom I agree! His earlier writings were excellent!

kisha I didnt start reading EJD until the Gideon Series. Then I thought he'd be my favorite author. So I read Chasing Destiny and Genvieve both which I loved. His earlier books were ok but not much different than many other African American writers of that genre. But I dont know what happened with his lates two books. If he's wanting to change his style and not lose faithful fans he should probably write under an alter ego. I couldnt even finish An Accidental Affair. Is it just me or was there no strong consistent plot line? The book had no substance.

Debra Odom No, it is not just you. My bookclub read the book and felt the same way.

Nakia That book was horrible. My book club read it in August and not one of our 20 members enjoyed it. Only about 7 of us actually finished it. I did a search for reviews on Twitter, and about 95% of them said the same thing.

Michael This was the first book I read by him, he was too graphic and less substanctial to me. I felt like all his character did was roll in the hay and not really give them any edge and he lacked orginality.
