Alright, I had to stop reading to go on line and look up a couple of plants. The few "hits" I got were from other readers seeking the answer to the same question, without success.

What are dog fart flowers and bull testicle trees?

My friend told me about dog fart vines, which a guide showed her when she was in Laos. Apparently the leaves smell like a dog's fart when they are crushed (hence, the reason you would not want to step on them). I know in some tropical areas, there is a type of tree that grows mangoes that resemble bull testicles...not sure if that's the same thing.

Curiously, I can not find anything on-line about these two plants. (Although the Skunk Vine might be the same as the Dog's Fart Vine.)

Of course their names probably say it all!

Still good to have a confirmation on the "dog fart vine". I have to assume the author is not making this up.
