Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Cheers, Emma,

Yes,Emma (who is is certainly fantastic), I had a nice email saying their full suggestions should be with me soon.

I have started anyway, and I've really enjoyed the re-writing. There is now an action scene in Chapter one involving a budgie that I think works pretty well :)

message 152: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I have two budgies currently haranguing me from a yard away - and I can't wait to see the action scene!

message 153: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Really. Maybe you should do what Joe does and hit the budgie with a garden gnome :) Of course, perhaps it's not really a budgie. I'm sure you get where I'm going with my thinking... :)

message 154: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Oh, I've now had the re-write suggestions from Blair. Very interesting :)

message 155: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Oh that is exciting. Was it stuff you were already working on?

message 156: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Interesting - as in 'May you liver in interesting times'?
Will you still feel it's your book if you do it all?

message 157: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Yes and no, Emma.

And yes, Ignite. The fact is, I can't do it all. I just hope they accept some compromises. Either way, the changes improve the first book and I can always approach other agents if they're not happy.

message 158: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Just let everyone know that the revised 'The Time Hunters' Book 1 is now available to download.

It's seven thousand plus words longer and 34 chapters as opposed to 24. Somethings have certainly changed and I think it's better than ever :)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I have too Carl, but I'm off out to daughter's for a Mum's Day lunch - I know it will be here for me when I get back.

message 178: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments If you go to the 'look inside' bit though it has 33 odd chapters listed so is definitely new version. Have shared on my FB too :-)

message 179: by Scott (new)

Scott | 3 comments So do we have to buy the new book again or is there an option to get the updated version? Just wondering as I'm new to the Kindle.

Loved both Time Hunters books so far, cant't wait for book 3 :o)

message 180: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Hey Scott, you can email amazon customer services and the will send you the updated version, no charge. Takes about 2hrs from when you send message x

message 181: by Scott (new)

Scott | 3 comments Many thanks Emma.

message 182: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Thanks, Scott :) No, it should be free. As Emma says, just email customer services. This was never about making more money.x

message 183: by Carl (last edited Mar 20, 2012 01:27PM) (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Oh, and I've put a hint about the start of Book 3 on my blog.

message 184: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments That is just teasing Carl. *cracks whip* hurry up with TH3!!! Am getting impatient now ;-) xxx

message 185: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Ha@Emma. I've been working for ages on the re-writes of TH1. I'm afraid you may have to wait for TH3 :)xxx

message 186: by Scott (new)

Scott | 3 comments Yes, emailed customers before I went to bed last night and I had a response waiting when I woke confirming they had sent a download to my Kindle. It is now waiting there for me to finish my current book before I dive back in for the new and improved version of The Time Hunters. Looking forward to it :-)

message 187: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments I've just emailed Amazon now.
Can't wait

message 188: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It's different (it starts differently) but it doesn't feel like a different book. It's the same only more so. It's bigger but tighter. I'm not putting this well am I? You can see why I'm not a writer!

message 189: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments I think I need to read the new version soon, sounds great. Did you see that Bernard and the Bibble is free today? Another great offering from Carl :-)

message 190: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Yeppers! I commented in the MOA over there.

message 191: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Thanks Carl. I shall bag myself a Bibble. I love that word - almost as much as Munkle ;)

message 192: by Carl (last edited Mar 21, 2012 10:31AM) (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Thanks Nicola - love the new Alice Parker cover. Bless you, Kath.

message 193: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments And thanks Scott, Joo and Emma,

Ignite, I think you sum it up beautifully. It is longer but tighter :)

message 194: by Carl (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments I've just returned from a lovely week in Tenby, so I thought I'd start the promotion bandwagon again.

As I like to throw TH readers nuggets about what's to come - well, TH3 is set at Xmas so meet Rodger - the red-nosed ....

http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/mammal/a...

message 195: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments I like Rodger already! One of those on the front lawn with lights on would certainly impress the neighbours - and hide the house :)

message 196: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Yay! Welcome back Carl. Haven't see you round here for ages! So when do you think TH 3 will be out? I am getting impatient!! :-)

message 197: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments My dad's name is Rodger. Apparently his father misspelt Roger on the birth certificate. It always catches my eye when I see that "D"

message 198: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Yay! As a geology graduate (back when the geology was the soil!) I love something extinct. It makes me feel less old!

Tenby is wonderful. We went there for a week as undergrads - part of our field work was on that coast - ans we always said we'd go back. We still could; we ain't dead yet!

message 199: by Carl (last edited Apr 09, 2012 02:24AM) (new)

Carl Ashmore (carlashmore) | 213 comments Yes, Uncle Percy paints a football red and fixes it to his nose. :)

Oooh, it'll be a fair while, I'm afraid, Emma.

Is that right, Joo ? One of my students spells it with a 'D'. I might change it to the normal way.

Ignite, you should. Here's the house we stayed in. It was lovely ad very reasonably priced despite its size. I really can recommend it.

message 200: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments But Roger is a boring way to spell it.
Rodger is shortened nicely to Rodge. It also rhymes nicer with Dodger, Bodger, Lodger
