Aww, cheers everyone. That's so very kind of you. That's really cheered me up. I plumped for the red wine option in the end. I'm aware that much of the hard work starts now but TH2 is 16000 words longer than the first book so at least the first hurdle has been jumped.

Just to let everyone know, the second The Time Hunters book - 'The Time Hunters and the Box of Eternity' is released on December 1st.

Anyway, it's become a tradition that I add readers (or their children/friends/family) into the acknowledgements of the paperback/kindle edition. So should anyone want to be included then let me know :)

I'm just bumping this thread to remind people that the latest 'stuff' Carl has written, the second Time Hunters book The Time Hunters and the Box of Eternity is out and is brilliant. I really enjoyed it - it's not a book 'written down' to children. It deals with some tough emotional issues but has some very funny 'stuff' in the mix too. Try it - you'll fall for it!

What a blow Carl! Redundancy with a generous pay out could be the answer. However, I suspect you are too valuable to 'let go' - I'll just have to contain myself.

Ah, no one is 'too valuable' in this current pedagogic climate, Ignite. It really is shocking out there. On one hand, I should be thankful I have a full-time job, on the other, it gets in the way of what I really want to do. That's why I'm going to dip my toes in the trad route again (agents/publishers etc.)
