Hey, I just saw you have a book out. Tell us about it.
Hi :-)
Yes, I recently published Tears of Paradox. It is book one in my series, set in Pennsylvania around 2027.
The main characters are a Roman Catholic couple who've been targeted by the government, which has devolved into a totalitarian state, and is beginning the practice of eugenics. Portions deal with a Hitler style youth cult, single payer healthcare, & the resultant deaths.
The book has strong themes of respect for human life, freedom & tradition.
Thanks so much for asking :-) I have had positive feedback so far- the book has strong Catholic themes.

Thank you all so much for the welcome- I will definitely check out the group books & books by group authors. I feel we're in a place in America where we need to stick together & support each other.

I would also recommend a facebook group called the Conservative Libertarian Fiction Alliance. I checked out your book. Like you I self published on Createspace. I knew very little about what turns out is a very complicated business. These people have helped me immensely.

Hi Robert-Yes. America is on the verge of becoming something it was never intended to be. We must do all we can to keep our Country.
Jack, your book looks terrific- I just downloaded it on my Kindle. I will check out the FB group you suggested.
I was very overwhelmed at the whole publishing process-I'm unhappy w/the kindle formatting of my book, but I'm the author equivalent of a starving artist in a garret, & I can't afford to hire someone to format it right now.
I am happy with the paperback, though it took me forever to get it right. Of course there are a very few errors in punctuation, but I refuse to stress-it's human error.
I'm publishing book two in December- I'm sure I will get a lot of ideas by reading the FB page.
Thanks again for welcoming me!

We need to just talk on the Phone, OMG, the stuff I have learned and seen other people go through. I can also get you on an Internet Radio Show or two to promote your book and talk about how you feel about Current Issues. I'm the Co-Host of the Robert Bertrand Show on Dead Wrong Radio. I also think there is a strong Possibility that Daria Anne Giovanni will have you on her show. She will be on Hugh Hewitt this evening at 8:30 PM Eastern.
Hi Daniella and welcome! I second everything Jack said. You can definitely get a lot of help in the Facebook group about publishing and promotion. In here, we also have a separate Self-Promo thread that you can use to tell people more about your work, both published and in progress, and also if you have any specials going.
Don't forget to check out our bookshelf! Lots of great authors, both established and self-pub, for you to explore.

Marsha, Thank you so much :-) I will definitely check out the bookshelf :-) I only recently found out about goodread. I wish I had discovered this site years ago! And I never knew there were FB groups for conservative/Libertarian writers.
Jack, thanks! Such awesome suggestions :-) I am away from home & can't navigate very well on my iPhone - I will check the FB group on my PC as soon as I get home.
The suggestions to promote my book on radio are something I never believed would happen :-)
You are so kind- I will contact you next week, when I get home.
Thanks so much!!!

Hey, Gonzo, welcome aboard!

Hi Elizabeth! If you want to talk about a particular book, please poke around the old threads to see if we already have one for that book and post in there. If not, start your own thread! Looking forward to your questions.
Challenges? Not sure what you mean. We will be having a group read soon, though. Hopefully everyone got an invite (only got 3 or 4 responses either way so far).
We will be doing A Few Good Men in August, spilling into September as needed. I'm pretty much dying to discuss it, which is impossible without spoilers. Amy Lynn can be next.

I second that. I understand it's a heck of a book. 56 out of 63 5 star ratings on amazon? Have you ever? No, I've never. Turn your Ipod on, play American Honey by Lady Antebellum in the back ground, and enjoy.

Cool, I'll join in.

My book reminds you of a Mariah Carey Movie? Scuse me whilst I blow my FKING brains out.

LoL, OK, i'll give ya that. Thank you.

This is Colin Flaherty , I'm a life-long reader and the author of a recent book called White Girl Bleed a Lot : The return of racial violence to America and how the media ignore it.
It got lots of positive attention from Sean Hannity, Thomas Sowell, Alan West and others.
Looking forward to getting info about great books for conservatives here.
Hi and thanks for joining! If there's one thing we have around here, it's great books (and wonderful readers as well)!

thanks masha

Welcome. I like your premise and yes, it is a story that needs to be told, over and over again.

Sounds intriguing! Welcome to the group; the more the merrier!
Hi all, I saw the title of your group and had to join. I'm both a reader and a writer, though I try to keep all but the subtlest of politics out of my books. And, yes, you could say that I'm a Libertarian. It's the closest political philosophy to my own. I was put firmly on the right political track when I read Harry Browne's How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World: A Handbook for Personal Liberty back in the '70s. It has been my personal Bible. And of course I've read Atlas Shrugged. Several times.

Welcome Sir.
Welcome Ken! I have to say Harry Browne's book has been fueling my desire to speak out about my beliefs ever since I read it in my early 20's, possibly even more than Rand. Great to meet a fellow fan.

I am a lifelong science fiction reader. I also like fantasy, mysteries, histories and police procedurals. All that being said popcorn caper comedies are my absolute favourite reads (Joe Gores or Donald Westlake). I more conservative than libertarian these days. I write rarely, practice law almost every day and am married with four cats.

I'm sort of somewhere between the 2 also, though seem to lean a bit more toward libertarian right now.
Hey everyone, I've been in this group for a month so just hovering over the discussion boards however I didn't see this introductory thread. I'm a libertarian from Australia and have been so since I was 14.
In High School I'd finish all my work in classes and just read pdfs off my phone, this is where I read most of the Austrian schools main works like Principles of Econ, Capital and Interest, Human Action and Man, Econ and State. Plus a whole bunch of others including the Law, The Ethics of Liberty, Capitalism: A Treatise on Economics (Underrated classic in my eyes) and some more that are escaping my mind.
My favorite fiction authors include Fyodor Dostoyevsky, William Gibson and although I've only really read two works of his so far (about to plunge into his whole bibliography) Thomas Pynchon.
I've also trying to read as much classic libertarian fiction as possible. Recently read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress for the first time and I have the Probability Broach on hold.
I keep reading because I know there's a wealth of stories and information that I have yet to engage with and the thought of that keeps a every growing list in my head. I also grew up being the only person that read and dealt with uni students who only exclusively read non-fiction because they couldn't read fiction.

I just joined goodreads a few weeks ago :-) I'm a Conservative/Libertarian in political philosophy.
I like to fiction & non-fiction which speaks to what is taking place in America at this time.
I am also the author of a new book- a fictional account of what I believe America will look like if we don't get off the high speed train to Socialism.
I love reading comment threads to see other points of view, from people who follow current events in an unbiased manner.
