The Host question

It's fine on its own, but there was definitely an opening at the end for future instalments.

Definately not. I really like The Host as it as it is. It did start off a little slow but once the story got going I really got in to it and by the end I was really happy with where all the characters ended up. It left me wanting a little bit more (because i always want a little more) but not enough for another book. Also i appreciate the fact that it can stand on its own. Series are great but sometime i just want to read a stand alone book.

i wouldnt mind a second book, but ill always remember The Host as being the first and only if the others are crap, but i honestly dont get how people are comparing this to the twilight series? i thought it was completely different?

No way! It was a horrible book. stephenie meyer really dropped the ball on this one.
