Lost world is about a fugutive on the run for 10 years, and he is finally getting revenge for certain things that occured in the past. When i first read this excerpt, i found it to be a somewhat a "wild west cowboy time" kind of story. Later i looked at the cover and confirmed that it probably is a wild west kind of story. This book first intersted me by the name, "The Lost World" at first i thought it would be some sort of outer space or parallel universe kind of story but later found out it takes place in Brazil. Although this books is a translation of the portuguese version, i trust it will be a great read and hopefully a suspenseful one at that. This book also reminds me of a movie that i watched recently, which happens to be "True Grit" a tale of a ex-contract killer that is asked to do one last mission and throughtout the movie he finds out he has some unfinished businesss himself. After watching that movie and reading the excerpt of this book i trust that i won't be disappointed in my book of choice.

A Day and a Night and a Day takes place in a prison like environment. Where a man is being torutured throughout the whole book, that is until his memory comes into play. I chose this book because it was under my "to read list" while searching for books in general. However when i took the time to read each and every excerpt in detail, this one really caught my attention. It caught my attention at first, when it mentioned the setting was of a windowless cell. The main character is being torutred. Now i'm not someone that enjoys seeing people being tortured, but the very fact that an author can narrate a whole story dedicated to someone being tortured honestly amazed me. So i wanted to test this author's ability to narrate a story on such a narrow concept and read this book. I also related this book to the movie, "Buried" a simple concept where a man is trapped in a coffin throughout the whole movie, which actually had my attention the whole time and turned out to be very intersting. It just shows to go you don't need much movement/settings in a story or movie to keep it intersting. The other reason i chose this book was because i have a tendency to judge a book by it's cover and although i know people shouldn't do that, sadly i do it all the time and that's what brought me to this book in the first place. I saw the picture of the man with smoke coming out of his mouth and then a colour contrasted picture to the right and thought this is going to be a great read!
