You have to wonder what GRRM was watching just before he wrote this, as he didn't make too much effort to disguise the names of these three characters.

I think a lot of that goes on if you know to look for it -- one of Michael Moorcock's Hawkmoon/Runestaff books has four ships whose names are very thinly-disguised Beatles.
