I see the page number listed as 752. Now I have the book in my hand and the last numbered page is 720. I'd like to know how to decided what the proper page count should be, because even if the intro pages (of which there are 30, numbered in Roman numerals) are erroneously included, that still leaves only 750 pages. If the advertisement page from B&N were included, then I suppose I could see where 752 pages comes from...

What I think I will do is change the page count to 720 and add a librarian note explaining that the intro is not counted due to being Roman numeric. Is this correct to do? ( I'm new :D )

Pages with Roman numerals are not counted, neither would be ads. I have updated the page count to reflect that.

Violetta, welcome. :)

Books frequently import with incorrect page numbering from Amazon or B&N. WorldCat is a good place to check for correct page numbering.

Violetta | 477 comments Kim - yes I had checked the manual before posting, so I knew the Roman numeral pages aren't part of the count. I just wanted to be extra sure ;) Oh, and to check if it merited a note or simply a change log.

Rivka - thanks for the welcome. I'll check out WorldCat from now on!

Violetta | 477 comments I've been able to update page numbers for a few more books from the Barnes & Noble Classics series for the same reason - it seems the import numbering always included the Roman numerically labelled introductory pages.
