Janelle, the "catagories" are the sections used for judging that i listed,
following the topic, creativity, style, and conventions.
About poem contests, I'll get started on those later, and im going to need help because im not good with poetry.
I'm going to send a message to the 2 people I want to be judges this first time, and ill start as soon as I get a reply from them.

try not to fill up the contest topics (the ones that r actually contests) with random talk.... it might get deleted. I would prefer if u asked questions in the questions topic, but if u don't, ill still answer the question (or somone else will)

Basically there will be some kind of category or something, and you create a story based on that. The "category" (for lack of a better word) can be anything from a genre to a specific sentence that has to appear within the writing. To post your writing, you can either just post it, or post a link to it. I will choose three judges. They will judge each short story on a scale from 1-10 in the following categories:
-following the topic (were the instructions followed)
-creativity (was it exciting and stuff like that)
-style
-conventions (spelling, grammer, sentence fluency etc..)
The winner gets to judge and come up with the topic for the next contest.
I'm not going to put a word limit on unless the stories are too long in the first couple of contests.
If i missed anything, let me know.

Judging for the contest starts as soon as the contest ends.
