We still have a few weeks left to finish up this read, but feel free to get the discussion started. What do you think so far? Personally, it's made me think about how remarkable the colonial union really was and the sheer blind faith the locals had in complete strangers who were often miles away. Also interesting is that our expression of viewpoints is not so different today.

Angie | 8 comments This was an amazing book to read! I thought it was interesting how he stated that it was the freedom in the global marketplace in the early half of the 18th century that lead to the political rhetoric of liberty and self-determination. I also really liked the sources that he used to make his argument and how using non-traditional sources like trash pits and pieces of material culture to help prove a larger picture of life in colonial America.
