Fiona Hawke I found this book difficult to endure in many ways. The grammar and punctuation - or lack thereof - was so painful to me that I found myself wondering if an editor had actually had a look at the manuscript! However, I read the eBook version. Could this be different to the hardcopy version?

The battles scenes seemed to have no different tone than a scene where Rose was wondering about her employers or the children. No true build-up, no real tension during the scenes, just words on a page.

The premise was interesting, and I finished the book because (1) I hate leaving a book unfinished in my reading of it, and (2) I truly wanted to know what happened at the end of the story.

It could be me, as there are many reviewers of this book who really enjoyed the style of writing, however I loathe run-on sentences and a sudden change of scene that shows no change of tone. The whole dynamics of the story ruined the book for me, I'm afraid. I do not think I shall be reading any more of this author's books.

Karen Braid Oh dear, what a pompous review. The story can't of been that bad as you forced yourself,( such self-sacrifice), to finish the book.
This was a cracking little story, ok there may of been a few errors but at least the author has tried to entertain the reader not with a grammar lesson but by telling them a pretty enjoyable story. I suggest you live a little Fiona, and if you feel you have a GREAT book in you then write it, and let us be both judge and jury on you're offering.
