Hmr28 | 71 comments If you have not read Moore's most excellent series run out and get them! I love her work and the love story between Taro and Lee is sweet and deep. The series takes place on a planet where Source's and Shield's control the elements to make the planet habitable by humans. It is a unique concept and very well written. I just heard that the series (5 books so far) has been dropped by Ace as so many great mid-list author's series have been. However, a bonus for the people that love this couple she plans on self publishing the rest of the series. Has anyone else on this group tried this series? What did you think?

Michelle Gilmore I haven't read any of the books in the series, but I did go and read the synopsis for book 1 after reading your post. It looks like it's a pretty interesting read. One reviewer described the series as an "epic fantasy" which definitely has me wanting to give the series a try. Book 1 is:

Resenting the Hero (Hero, #1) by Moira J. Moore

Sadly the covers are awful, but the series is great! And yes, the first one is resenting the hero. You'll love it!

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) Love this series! Haven't read the latest, but do have it sitting here waiting, hoping to get to it this month.

And yes, the covers are horrible, but that is actually what got me to read them in the first place--I saw someone's review saying how horrible the covers are, and to completely disregard them, as the series was a great one. And they were right. :)

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments I just started the latest installment, but I'm not feeling it so far.

It's a great series, because it's so very interesting to see two people who have a bond forced on them, who have to work together _for the rest of their lives_, and see them work through that.

There's also a lot of subtle political mess that's very interesting. Unfortunately that seems to be pushed back to the backburner now since Heroes Return (book 5). I hoped we would return to that in book 6, but so far that doesn't seem the case.

Still, I highly recommend this series uptil book 4, because there aren't that many series out there where the characters are so terribly flawed, but still people you can root for.

namericanwordcat | 156 comments I read the first one and it did not hook me. Odd because it has so many elements that I like.

I might try again.
