lolz. I hate that too. That's why I like fantasy, because then I can just make up a whole bunch of stuff.
me too!! ^^ and then the stuff i don't know, i just guess. or i make it up. and if someone's like "that doesn't make any sense" i'm like, "yeah, well, you know what? SHUT UP!!!"
okay, just kidding. :P but i'm serious that i don't do a whole lot of research on my writing.
except yesterday, i looked up the meaning of the word "kami" in a book about shinto. lol.

Okay ... I hope that I explain this right so as not to offend Shinto people. Of course, I highly doubt that anyone here is Shinto but whatever. lol.
If I understand correctly, the belief is that everything in the world has a spirit in it called a kami. They don't really have a god or gods; they believe in these kami things that live in everything -- people, inanimate objects, trees, mountains, all that stuff. interesting.

Oh, that sucks. Hmm...I usually don't need to do research for my stories, but sometimes I do. I've been doing a LOT of research for Hunted, actually...mostly because they're traveling from place to place, so I have to google the places so I can describe the places I've never been accurately, and also for hotels and restaurants and such. It's not annoying, though- I actually think researching it is fun! :D

OMG I LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE ANN ARBOR!!!!!!
sorry, just had to put that out there.
And how would you guys pronounce Ypsilanti? I've heard that only people from michigan can pronounce it correctly. Same with Mackinac (which is pronounced MACKINAW! actually, there's mackinac island and mackinaw city and both are spelled right...)

Oh really, I did? Thanks! Phew, that's a relief. *wipes sweat off brow* I always get worried when I write about places I've never been, because I feel like I'm portraying it wrong or something.

Did I at least get the pronounciation correct?

Yes, you do have it correct. And it is awesome there. Wait, are you talking about the Ann Arbor hands on museum? I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!
