If you like inspirational books about people who do genuinely wonderful things, you might like Little Princes by Conor Grennan

In Mountains Beyond Mountains, the story is definitely food for thought and educational, and the writing is great as well. The reader grows to love and admire the major people in the book. I have another of Kidder's books to read. I was reading Mountains just at the time of the earthquake in Haiti. Haiti plays prominently in the book, as does Russia. If you read this book and then remember what the earthquake did, you'll be doubly blown away for all kinds of reasons.
