This will not work for this task I'm afraid. It changes the setting of the book from non-fiction to fiction.
Karen GHHS wrote: "Oh, I just remembered Kenneth Oppel's new prequel:This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein"
Sorry Karen I missed this question. This will work as a prequel to Frankenstein.
Rachel Renee wrote: "I noticed The Red Tent on the list linked in the task description. Will that work?"Whether you can use this will depend on your view of the Bible (if you are using it as your original book). In a previous post I said that a fictional story could not be used as as continuation for a non-fiction story as it changed the setting.
If your personal view is that the Bible is just a collection of stories and is not factual then you can use The Red Tent for this task. If, however, you view the Bible as a factual historical account then you can not use it.
I have left this up to personal choice in this instance as I am aware that many people have different views.
If you are going to use something else as you original book please let me know.
since i'm having a really hard time figuring out...I picked this one up at the library for 50 cents today and thought I would ask - Adele: Jane Eyre's Hidden Story - its Jane Eyre told through the eyes of Adele (the little girl)
What about Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore? This is the story of a character unnamed in the bible who is cast as a friend of Christ's telling the untold story from birth to age 30 in the life of Christ. While the book is humorous, it isn't really a parody. It seems like either a fill-in or a prequel to the gospels related to Jesus as told in the Bible.
The writing of the book is set in present day -- Biff is called up from the dead by an angel to write his gospel and tell the untold story. But the telling is set in the same time as the bible -- i.e., Biff is recounting episodes that he (allegedly) witnessed when accompanying the young Jesus on travels through the Middle East.

Please apply post 106 to Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore. Your personal views on the Bible will effect whether you can use this book as a fill-in.

Out of Oz has Dorothy come back and involved somehow with Elphba's (The Wicked Witch) granddaughter, the green child found by Liir at the end of Son of a Witch.
I hope it can be used.

Will you be using the Wizard of OZ books as your original series? There are a number of sequels already written by the original author to this book which means that if you want to use [book:Out of Oz it would also need to fit in with these books. From a quick look at the summaries on goodreads this means that Out of Oz can not be used for this task.
If you have further information that shows that this is not the case please let me know.
Laurie wrote: "Is Whitechapel: The Final Stand of Sherlock Holmes acceptable?"Yes this will work as a sequel.

Carte Blanche: The New James Bond Novel will not work for this task as it is retelling in different setting. The book is not set in the same time period as the original books.
