I actually started this last night and had to put it down after just the first chapter cause if not I'd have never found a place to stop most likely. It's a very cinematic feel to it, in the sense that you can easily visualized what's going on.
You guys make it sound good and almost convince me to buy it. The cheapest I've seen it is in paperback for $10. I'll look around some more and see if I can convince myself to give in.
I found a free podcast. Yay. So I'll just have to make time to sit and listen. There are pdf versions too but this pod cast, as far as I can tell, was released by the author. But thanks anyway for the info.
yup. it's amazing how cheap you can find books on amazon, I've gotten many a book for a penny so it's worth remembering for later. ya know :)
I forgot to post this at first. I'm not sure if you want it but here's the link to the podcast. (Chapters are at the bottom of the page.) Just in case you want to get a head start on the book while waiting for it to arrive in your mail.
I still have two other books as well. I'm in three book clubs, so I can read them while I wait but thank you, in case I get the others done before these ones arrive :)
Okay can I just say that chapter 3 has to be one of the creepiest chapters ever in any book I've read. It made me want to take a shower and scrub myself raw. The author really did his homework on how invading organisms work on a cellular level but still manages to convey everything in a way that non science minded ppl could still follow. But I've taken too many science classes so it made it even creepier for me at least.

I'm enjoying the podcast too. He does the woman's voice a little funny but other than that I like it. I'm enjoying the book. I hope to give a little more time to it soon so I can finish it.
I wanted to sit down and read some more of it today but didn't get around to it. Maybe on my next day off I will be able to get back into it. Its one of those books I dont want to read at night cause I wont want to put it down, plus I have strange enough dreams without infected spores raining down on me during them.
Haha no it not. I have like an ingrown hair on my arm that has caused a lump and I swear every time I pick up this book I start scratching at it and searching for other spots hahahaha
lol, I am used to this little mystery rash, it comes & goes every couple of years or so. Just one round circle of little white circles.
Tell ya what though, the change in Perry as the triangles grow is disturbing!

I started listening to the podcast. I like the author's narrative voice, but the character voices... not too hot about.
Interesting story so far though. There was a moment when he was explaining the secret CIA rooms that reminded me of Burn Notice and that made me happy. :D

Audiobooks confuse the hell out of me. o.O Now they're talking about seeds. Are they talking about how the infection started right now?
I've finished this now and I've got to say, Sigler certainly knows how to paint a picture with words. Chapter 68 gave me quite a lot of images. Like this: (view spoiler). There are a lot more like that. The one above gave me a mind image that didn't fade away.

Is it in a spot where you got a vaccination as a kid? I think my mom has a mystery spot like that and it's from a polio vac back in the ancient times.
*goes back to lurking because she hasn't read this one yet although it's sitting by the computer...
One of the spots it turns up is, but I get it in several spots randomly, but only one place at a time. kwim?
okay I am about halfway through now and can i just say wholyfuckshitwthell are those damn triangles! At first I was thinking some parasite, then I started thinking some alien infestation type thing(like body snatchers but not quite) But now they have started freaking me out, I mean they have intelligence! Im pretty sure Perry is going to die, but I can't help but root for him while he tries to destroy the things in his own body.
I still think it should have been could Infested instead of infected. lol but I'm weird like that. :)

Zombies! It's getting closer to Halloween, this is an appropriate read. =]
