Dawn | 1371 comments A nice dry cool morning...I can't believe summer is behind us already :(

Split Second by David Baldacci - A great start to hopefully another great series

Haily's War by Jodi Compton - I think Haily, an ex West Point cadet will be back in Compton's novel, and while this gave some interesting insight to a girl's gang, it was my least fav Compton novel

Ideal Man by Julie Garwood - typical Garwood as FBI agent Max Daniels is needed to protect witness Dr. Ellie Sullivan, but a much need light happy read after dealing with Hurricane Irene

Bury Your Dead by Louise Penny- this series just gets better and better. I can't say more without giving anything away, but best of the series so far....and I'm next on the list for A Trick of the Light!

Justice by Karen Robards - Secret Service Agent Mark Ryan assigned to protecting ex-girl friend lawyer Jess Ford who is supposed to be keeping a low profile

Mr. Lucky by James Swain - another Tony Valentine book, where Tony is hired to investigate the luckiest man on earth

I keep hoping she'll write another Sarah Pribek book. I really loved those.

Marcy | 865 comments Never read Jodi Compton. So you'd recommend her earlier books?

Ann (annrumsey) | 16929 comments I can let summer get behind me, Dawn and temperatures get below the 80's again, please! ;)
Good month!! - I really need to get caught up with Louise Penny. Bury Your Dead is next up for me (series-wise, not tbr wise)

Melodie (melodieco) | 3679 comments I need to get caught up with Armand Gamache and has been a long time since I read a Jim Swain book.

Dawn | 1371 comments Oh Marcy...its been a long time since I read The 37th Hour, her first book, but I ranked it 10 out of 10...so yes, I recommend it!

And yes, I've been pulled into the lives at Three Pines...and you won't regret moving those books up in in TBR pile. Melodie, I'm very slowly making my through the Valentine books

Ann (annrumsey) | 16929 comments Dawn: I am with you, I really liked both Jodi Compton books, The 37th Hour and Sympathy Between Humans. It was back in 2004-2005 but I made pretty decent notes about them. MY ranks were both 9+.

Donnajo | 4354 comments I'm enjoying reading garwood's series with an online group. I did get ideal man on my nook but I didn't think it's part of the series. I think we are starting slow burn on the 16th of the month. I think we are doing 1 a month. loved murder list. hope slow burn is just as good.

Dawn | 1371 comments I did like Slow Burn, but didn't like Sizzle. Ideal Man was good, not great.

Donnajo | 4354 comments I'm starting slow burn either today or tomorrow for a group read again. I guess this series we are doing every month not every other month like julia spencer fleming's.
I'm looking forward to starting it so I think i might jump start it today.
