Meghan | 115 comments The ending wrapped up very neatly with the dog feeling as though he finally found his true purpose of existence. How do you feel about endings that close everything up? Does it enhance or detract from the experience of the book? If it detracts, what would you have changed?

I really liked how it tied up the ends. It was logical to me. When I take the people approach, have I found my own purpose in life. I'm not a parent, I've only been married for 8 years as old as I am, I've had a lot of health challenges in my life. Perhaps I'm teaching others something they need from me. I learn from you, I hope in some tiny way, you can learn from me. To me it in no way detracts from the book. That is one of the endearing points is that Bailey figures out why he is here, how all the skills he learned through his life(s) come together so he can serve those that have loved him and he has loved. Great take on this concept.

Alisha Rivera | 145 comments I sometimes get a bit disappointed by endings that wrap up so neatly. I prefer to have something left to the imagination....to sort of keep wondering about the story. Maybe that way (especially when I really like the book) it can continue in my mind. It doesn't have to end.

Another difficulty for me was trying to figure out what we might discuss with this book. It seemed there was so much to talk about with Skippy. After finishing this one, I wasn't sure there would be much to say!

Meghan | 115 comments it did wrap up very neatly, which is good at times...I wish it left something to the imagination though and didn't tie up every loose end. I loved the book, but I wish the author did it just a bit differently.

Julie | 168 comments I think I would have preferred to not know whether Ethan died at the end, or if Bailey just kept him company through a medical emergency and he ended up okay. I have to admit I do like a happy ending-- every single time I watch/read Romeo & Juliet (or the various versions of it) I always always hope they end up together! But they never do :( So I suppose a happy, complete ending is good every now and again.

Cheryl | 134 comments JULIE! I JUST FINISHED JULIET, AND YOU WILL LOVE THE EXTENSIONS TO THE 13TH CENTURY TO UNRAVEL THE "TRUE" STORY OF ROMEO AND JULIET. WONDERFUL BUBBLE GUM FOR THE EYES.
