Oco (ocotillo) | 107 comments Hi, apologies Sean, if this doesn't deserve a new thread, but I couldn't find an obvious place to put it, and thought there might be other websites with good reviews and recommendations out there that others could share.

So, this site just popped up on my LJ F-list: http://booklist.rassaku.net/ His page title is "Gay fiction booklist that doesn't suck" (I think there is a misplaced modifier there, but you get the idea).

The rec list isn't scifi specific, but the author of the page clearly loves scifi because there are several on there. And these aren't m/m romance, but gay fiction. So the scifi is real scifi, not romance/erotica in a spaceship.

The author provides reviews (in addition to ratings) that are quite helpful.

Oco (ocotillo) | 107 comments Thanks. Yeah, Gina. Me too. I wish it were longer, but it is more than I'd had. Hoping some others find lists as well. :)

Bill Johnston | 2 comments Some of the books that he lists on the site as 'hard to find' are actually available on Kindle, and possible other ebooks.

T.W. Spencer (timothyw) | 5 comments I checked out the site, and found that I have already read at least 50% of the books. So there are books I can add to my ever growing 'to-read' list, and there is reason for me to re-check periodicaly to see what's new. Thanks, Ocotillo

Bernardo Rivera | 2 comments Mercedes Lackey I REALLY LOVE her trilogy The Last Herald Mage. The main character is gay and a great hero who has to deal with coming out to his family. He almost submits to suicide only to be saved by his Aunt's protege. Who shows him how to love and be loved. It is full of Love Tragedy Enduring Loss and Regaining it. All the while having to learn to control his mage powers and fighting dark forces. It's siply an amazing read.

message 8: by Indigo (new)

Indigo (joihel) 3 books that changed, some 20 years ago, my grip on world building, approach of universal themes and sex preference for all of the following years. No prejudice, but a new outlook on differences and a brand new (thought challenging)-love- story telling.
