For task 25.1B, the book you use must have exactly 4 letters from ALEXANDRIA, no more, no fewer. The book you posted has 5 of the letters - E, R, L, A, I."
Grr. I totally missed the "R"!!! Ok, I will find another place for it and a new book for 25.1. Thanks!!

reposted for the correct edition. Thanks

Yes, I noticed that after I posted #504. I have been writing "hpaddict" at the top of my posts going forward. You do have "hpaddict" listed on the reader board names. So my later post (#557, so after this recent scoring) will be on there. I will repost #504 with "hpaddict" at the top. Thanks!

Task 25.4, book #2 -- you've linked to Salman Rushdies Chutnification of History in Midnight s Children, an ebook which has 15 pages. To claim a Big Book ticket, you need to link to the edition you've actually read. Thanks!

Books for young readers can only be used for 5, 10 and 15 point tasks, or for tasks in which they are specifically stated to be allowed. Wayside School is Falling Down is geared toward young readers, both in reading level and in subject matter, so it won't work for 30.7.

O.K. (I'm new) so that's good to know. My other part of that task was a Young Adult - The Gifted. Would that also not be allowed?
Do I need to do another post for the 20 point task that I did? (post 742)

Young Adult books are fine. Since you're new, it might be good for you to read through the rules of the challenge to orient yourself.
No need to post the task that didn't have problems.

April, when you have a question about a specific task, you should ask it in the help thread for that task. This thread is about problems with readerboard posts. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/6....
You should start, though, by reading the task itself and checking any links provided for helpful information. If you don't find the answer there, check the help thread, especially posts 2 and 3 which provide clarifications, approved/disapproved books, etc. If that doesn't help, then ask a question in the help thread.

I looked on the help thread for that task and in message 2 Kristi has approved Fisher and Fischer.

Just an FYI - Task 10.4 requires that the author's last name have the same number of letters as your readerboard name, not your own last name. In this case, luckily, it doesn't matter since all the names involved have 4 letters!

I just reposted, but my score did not reflect 10.7 or 15.10 on the Readerboard. I have 125 as total with today's posting before that I had 75 and the Readerboard was still reflecting 45 so it should have at least been showing 70.
Thanks,

25.2 was added to your score - the problem was with task 25.1 (post 597) - see message 96 in this thread. Your book for the second part had too many letters from ALEXANDRIA.

the challenge rules require that a book be read in its entirety. For 20.6, as you note, the audio books you listened to only equalled half of A Game of Thrones. To claim points for this book, you will need to read (or listen to) the entire book.

For 30.5, the different titles must be in the same language, not different titles in French and in English.
Also, since the description of J'Aurais Prefere Vivre 'i Would Prefer to Live' is in French, I am not able to determine where it is set, and A requires that the book be set in a place other than the author's birthplace. Please indicate the setting when you re-post for this task.

It looks like I may have misread the requirements by changing: "read a biography of an author or a book in which a significant character is an author" to "read a biography in which a significant character is the author."
However, if I just switched the two books around, then I believe they should work in this task. Soul Surfer as the 200-299 pps. And, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society about an author as a significant character.

I was thinking it might work, because in German "A Game of Thrones" has been split into two in the paperback editions, so the first half actually is a whole book hereabouts. Sadly, German publishers are notorious for that. The audiobooks are in German and although that is not shown in the title itself, the German audiobooks go by the same division as the paperbacks (the covers are always the same for two audiobooks, equalling half an English volume in the series or one of the German paperbacks and the narrator also refers to the German paperback edition titles). So thinking in the German context, this is actually a whole book.
I don't mind reading/listening to the rest of A Game of Thrones, I was planning to do so anyways, but just to be sure I got it right (because as I mentioned above, quite a lot of longer English books have been split in the German translation and I don't want to make the same mistake again): So if I had read the paperback edition, I would have to read both of the German books to claim them?

The key is what the book actually is, not how the publisher decided to split it up for printing purposes. Looking at the paperwork edition you listed, it says "Game of Thrones part I" - so it acknowledges that it's just part of the actual book.
It's like the opposite of the "omnibus" rule - even though 3 books may be bound in one volume, we accept them as separate books since they actually are separate books, just stuck together for price/convenience considerations. Here, it's the opposite - it's one book, but the publisher decided to split it into two parts for price/convenience considerations.
