"The grass began to crack as if I was walking on glass." Written by our own Graham Schnell. Just look at that sentence again -- you can FEEL the sharp edges of dried-up grass, you can HEAR the sound of crackling as your feet crushes it. Graham compares "grass" to "glass" -- talk about poetic parallelism! Well-freaking-done.

"Affect is an Action -- that's how to remember it's a verb." Yep, Jordan Tanner came up with this brilliant mnemonic device at the drop of a hat.
"Children were crying, but the tears were evaporating before they made it to their cheeks." (Who wrote this?? The paper didn't have a name, and I'd love to give credit where credit is due.) Very creative.
"My name. Ally. Like a dull silver color. The color that comes off your pencil lead, but still has that sparkly shine that stays on your paper." --Ally Forshee
"What was first Joseph because Joey, then Joe, and after that Jo. It's a pity people can't make ti just 'J.' Joseph was cut down like a tree and chopped into little pieces for the wood pile with almost no meaning."--Joseph Hilton
"When my name is spoken it sounds smooth, like snowboarding in power or gliding across the water on a kayak."--Josh Berbert
"When I am a cute little old grandma, then I will go by the name Kimberlee. But until then my name is Kimmy."--Kimmy May
"Until my mother came along and like a fearless man tames a large animal, she shook it all out of him like liquid from a sponge so that hardly any need of danger was left."--James Moyle
"In English my name means Kade Patten. In Spanish my name means Kade Patten. In German my name means Kade Patten."--guess who?
"They are both small in stature but their minds became their weapons." (speaking about Bean and Ender)--Connor Bush
