Post a maths problem that you don't understand!
We can help!
Hopefully...

message 2: by Nika (new)

Nika | 14 comments my weak point are the equations in fractions, buf! I despair :(

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't worry!
We're here to help!

sucre'd fiend (sucredfiend) | 63 comments Hmm, Math. I used to be bad at it, then I got better, but then I got bad. Hmm, I strongly dislike Math.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I am pretty good at math, according to other people...

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Me!

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

You haven't even seenme solve a math problem, Tonmoy.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

C'min, Fiza, take the fuckin' compliment like a good girl...
:)
Because I may not have seen you, but I do know you are a genius!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Right...
About that...
Okay! Give me a math problem...

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

One day, a person went to horse racing area, Instead of counting the number of human and horses, he instead counted 74 heads and 196 legs. Yet he knew the number of humans and horses there. How did he do it, and how many humans and horses are there?

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

So, in total, there's 74 horses and humans.
24 horses and 50 humans?

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah...
That's right...
Your a freak at this kind of stuff...
I can barely wrap my head around simple things...

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

It wasn't that hard...
Basically, assuming that no one has lost any legs...
There needs to be a minimum of 74x2 legs
Minus that from the total legs
The rest is divided by 2, giving you the amount of horses
Then you minus the amount of horses from the amount of heads.
Not my cup of tea, but it's manageable.

message 14: by Nika (new)

Nika | 14 comments Waw! for me it's so hard! I didn't get it! I'm not good at maths...but I like them!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah...
I like algebra best!

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

The algebra sum could be...
If h is horses and p is people:

196 = 4h + 2p
h + p = 74

I think you could solve that with the simultaneous equations method.
Or substitution, if you transposed the second algebraic sum so that either only h or p were the subject!

message 17: by Nika (new)

Nika | 14 comments yeah, well I absolutly prefer algebra more than geometry!

message 18: by Nika (new)

Nika | 14 comments Hannie wrote: "The algebra sum could be...

Oh! That's right, I didn't realize that I can solve it this way, much better! thxs! =) I was trying to do it with more difficult ways..

message 19: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments Ok, so is anyone here like a coordinate geometry freak??

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, i am María, hannie how old are you? It is just curiosity, nice to meet you!!!!!

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm fourteen...
And as for the geometry, I don't know about me...
What's the question?

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Then id you are only 14 you are really good at meths, and you are from Australia, aren't you?

message 23: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments Depends on the geometry...

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes... I'm from Australia...

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

It is very cool

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

What time do you have in Australia?

message 27: by Just Deena (last edited Sep 18, 2011 02:24AM) (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments Like with the midpoint coordinates, and the distance coordinates, i need help with those ones, and with determining whether a point lies on a line lol, i have an exam tomorrow

Mar

Its 7:23pm here

message 28: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments Oh. Bleck. Sorry. I can't help. :( I just finished basic geometry.

message 29: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments oh lol, yeah, the kind of geometry im learnin is the worst! sooo many equations

message 30: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments :P I'll probably get there by the end of this year or sometime next year in junior year. :P I have no idea when it comes to my school.

message 31: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments lol! what year r ya in?

message 32: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments Sophomore.

message 33: by Just Deena (last edited Sep 18, 2011 02:35AM) (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments sophomore? lol, idk wat year that is lol, we dont have sophomore here, well we do, but we dont call it that

message 34: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments Oh. Tenth grade?

message 35: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments rite, yep, im in tenth grade too! goin onto year 11 in like 2-3 months

message 36: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments Whoa
I have awhile before I go into 11th grade

message 37: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments haha yeah, cant wait! 10th grade is soo far the worst year of my skooling years

message 38: by Athena (new)

Athena | 165 comments Lol.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Yr 10...
I'm going to yr 10 next year!
Anyway, about the geometry...
Any particular aspect you need help with?

message 40: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments determining whether a point lies on a line lol, and yes u r! ure gunna die lol

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

You've got an equation for the line, right?
Give me an example...

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

I actually can't wait till yr 10...
Even though I may die...

message 43: by Just Deena (last edited Sep 18, 2011 03:16AM) (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments show that the point (-3,4) lies on the line 2x+3y-6=0

message 44: by Just Deena (last edited Sep 18, 2011 03:19AM) (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments Oh wait, i think im figuring it out, im gettin there

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Just substitute the point into the equation...
If you get 0, then it lies on the line!

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, if you get whatever answer you need (in this case 0) then it's correct...

message 47: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments hah thanks, yeah i just did that, and i got it rite, awesome

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

No probs!
Anything else?

message 49: by Just Deena (new)

Just Deena (invictusmaneo) | 49 comments Nope, thanks, it was just that lol

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay! Cool!
I'm currently attempting to finish trig homework...
First timer on the subject, so it's really different..
Waaay more calculator work.
It's not bad...
Just tedious.
