Lisa (teenymayhem) I bought my Nook Touch back in June and I have loved having it. I fired it up Tuesday morning and was disturbed to see lines going up and down on most of the screen. I did a number of things before deciding it was beyond anything I could do. I'm not kidding when I say I felt like crying. The last time I had used it was Sunday evening it was perfectly fine then. I took it to B&N and the clerk said generally it's a heat related problem, but that wasn't the issue with mine. She called the 800 number and after fiddling with it for awhile it was decided that the unit will be replaced. Sooo, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with any of the other nooks. A woman at B&N said her daughter had the problem with her Kindle and she was told it was something to do with the e-ink technology. Also, has anyone gone through the replacement process and do they need credit card info because they will charge if they decide the defect is not their problem?? Yargh!

Chara (charalee) Yeah, it seems like it has to do with the screen components going bad. If you just got it in June, then its still under the manufacturer warranty. they usually dont give you a hard time when you need a replacement for something like that. If you're not too upset by needing a replacement, then you'll be a happy camper pretty soon.

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 340 comments Lisa, the only time I had a problem with that was on the 1st edition Nook for my mom's and for mine. My mom had a bad pixel and mine was sitting on the nightstand on top of a 750+page book which fell over and on top of the Nook. So far I haven't had any problems with my Simple Touch except last week when I hadn't used it in about 2 weeks and all of a sudden it wouldn't get off the screensaver. I tried charging it for the night and it worked after that point.

Stephanie (Reading is Better With Cupcakes) (imjustcupcake) | 8 comments I believe they take your credit card info in case you do not send the other one back like you are supposed to.
