Jane (beetlejane) | 3 comments The last 2 lots of mobi files I have emailed my Kindle (from Smashwords and checked in Calibre before sending) are showing the email address they were sent from as the Author. It's never happened before & I'm not doing anything differently. Anyone got any suggestions please

Summer (paradisecity) Hmm. All the files I've emailed for conversion show myself as the author. Hopefully someone else can help.

message 3: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) I just got a few files from Net Galley that show like that too. I've only had my Kindle for a week, so I didn't know it shouldn't do that...

Terri (clanmoran) | 77 comments It has always showed up that way for me also! Now when I drag a file directly to the Kindle (instead of emailing) it actually shows the name of my computer as the author!

Jane (beetlejane) | 3 comments It has never done it before for me. I am not converting them either. I have now removed them & transfered via usb!

Jason (ancatdubh2) Has anyone discovered what the fix might be for this? It is very frustrating.

message 8: by Jason (new)

Jason (ancatdubh2) I've just logged a complain with Amazon describing the issue as the Amazon personal delivery service not pulling the correct title and author metadata from the MOBI file e-mailed, and instead displaying the filename as the title and the email address (from which the document was sent) as the author. They said they would have a response for me within 48 hours.

I'd encourage others to do this, as well. They didn't even appear informed that this was happening...

Jason (ancatdubh2) Amazon has now fixed this problem. All is right with the world. Enjoy!

Helen Thanks Jason.
