A Song in the Daylight
question
mmmmm....

omg.....I think I like this book, but gee it seems to be taking me forever to read...anyone else have this problem with it?????
I had a problem with it from the start but keep on reading & hopefully you'll find out soon enough :)
This is probably my least favourite book by Paullina Simons...I just found it to be unnecessarily long and I couldn't really enjoy any of the characters. And the end...yeah. Overall, a disappointment unfortunately
I agree with you, Ali. This is the book that I have enjoyed the least. Mainly, I think, because the character of Larissa frustrated me to tears. I absolutely HATED her, I hated her for what she did to her family, and hated her for what she did to herself. I think she was weak, spineless, lacking emotional maturity and depth of understanding. Selfish. Detestable. I guess this is a positive reflection on the author, for creating a character that I feel so passionate about, but I can't really see it that way. I don't know why. But Larissa just hit a chord with me.
Can I just mention the ending? I think that was also one of my main reasons for my discontent with this book. It's not like they didn't deserve what happened to them, but it just didn't sit right with me. I think I can understand you Jodie, when you say "all that drama just for that to happen." It left me with the feeling that everything that had happened had been without purpose.
Perhaps, though, that is the point of the book?
Mmm, I just don't know.
I think the fact that it made me think so much about human nature, however, can only be a positive thing.

There is something about Paullina Simon's books that keep me hooked. Have you read either Red Leaves or Tully?
