I just started The Apprentice by Tess Gerritson since I love the TV series Rizzoli and Isles, and while the book is good, I'm a little disappointed because it's not very much like the TV series. isles is hardly on the page at all. it's missing the humor and banter between Rizzoli and Isles on the TV series, which disappoints me a bit. Overall, though, really great mystery and suspense. I'm using it to help me craft my own suspense a bit better.

How about you?

Ausjenny | 225 comments Im reading Sarah Sundin's Blue Skies Tomorrow now haven't read the first two in the series but dont feel I am lost at all. I got my dates mixed and thought this one was to be read in Sept but am loving it. a change from drama on the high seas!
interesting fact both Kaye Dacus and M.L. Tyndall have a ship called the same name HMS Audacious. different captains etc. If I hadn't read them straight after one another would not have noticed it.

I adore Marta's books! I liked Buried Sins (The Three Sisters Inn Series, #3) a lot.

Dead Reckoning just came out, didn't it? I have it on my TBR pile but I haven't read that yet.

John G. | 7 comments I'm reading through FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING in Portuguese, but also re-reading the original at the same time for comparison.

message 9: by Regina (new)

Regina Merrick (goodreadscomrmerrick) | 8 comments I finished Susan May Warren's "Happily Ever After" on Friday, and have been chomping at the bit to read the rest of that series all weekend! This morning, first thing, I went straight to the shelf and pulled "Tying the Knot" and "The Perfect Match!" Other than that, I need to be reading my own manuscript before I send it in!

message 10: by Judy (new)

Judy | 181 comments Just finished Dead Reckoning with tears in my eyes. Excellent read! I have enjoyed all five of her books so far.

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Sundin (goodreadscomsarah_sundin) | 3 comments I hope you enjoy it! Perhaps I should have named Ray's plane Audacious instead of Ascalon. Well, I got the "A" right :)

Sarah Sundin (goodreadscomsarah_sundin) | 3 comments I'm reading Bonnie Leon's "Wings of Promise," which is a fun book. It's even more fun for me, because Bonnie's one of my critique partners, so I saw this book in its rough draft. She made some fabulous changes which really strengthened the book - and that's encouraging to me in the midst of a whopping edit :)

message 13: by Judy (new)

Judy | 181 comments I keep trying to get my NetGalley pile down and somehow keep adding more then I'm reading! Every time one of the books is part of a series I go back and read the previous books. At least it gets a few off the shelf.

I decided to read Balancing Act by Patricia Davids.

I will also be working on my blog site to come up with a book rating system. Any ideas on that are welcome on my post in LIH.

message 14: by Amancay (new)

Amancay (amancayb) | 33 comments I just started to peruse The World According to Oprah: An Unauthorized Portrait in Her Own Words (for my current biography/memoir type)
plowed through most of Perfect on Paper: The (Mis)Adventures of Waverly Bryson yesterday... need to work on processing a wedding, before I run back to it though! ;)
and I hope to finally crack open Emerald Windows this week...
OH, and I should probably get back to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader eventually!

I picked it up at the library the other day and didn't realize it was the third in a series until I got into and she talked about the sisters and their guys.

that's why I love checking stuff on GoodReads... but, if it's any consolation, they are surely decent stand-alones... I'm just slightly neurotic about reading/watching things in chronological order! ha!

message 18: by Judy (new)

Judy | 181 comments fictiondb is fairly good about listing series too.
But not all. That is why I just collect all of the authors books and one day will read from the first to the last catching any series in between.

Sarah glad there wasn't another Audacious! I am loving the book about 150 now but I need sleep so had to stop. I feel so for Helen. Dont want to say why cos it could give things away but lets say I dont like her father in law.

I want to read Bonnie's book as I really liked the first book.

Judy | 181 comments I just finished Balancing Act and cried even more on that one!

I have Courtin' The Enemy by Renee Ryan to read for NetGalley but since I own Dangerous Allies and it precedes it, that is next on the list. I can't catch up. NetGalley has too many good books!

I'm the same way about checking on Goodreads! The best part is that Goodreads is pretty good about that even if the series is "unofficial."

I like Fictiondb because they're really good about listing the number the book is in if it's part of a category line. I don't know why but I'm a bit anal about that. They also list if the book is published under a different line or anthology title, which is very useful.

Audacious is a good name for a ship! Makes me think of a flirty redhead. ;)

Ooooh Netgalley has that title? Man, you're killing me--I can't request too many from Netgalley b/c they only last 55 days once I download it and I'm on deadline so I don't have as much reading time as I'd like! But I'd really like to read Renee's book!

That is really neat about how that book impacted you. Now I totally want to read it.

Judy | 181 comments I actually had the larger print book of Love Your Enemy so I was able to read that rather then on the computer. I have checked several books like that and they are word for word the same, just different titles.

I listed both pictures of the book on my blog :-)

I read that over the weekend. Really fun book. St. John has a sense of humor that comes across in her writing.

Patriciaw | 49 comments I'm just about at the end of Charlotte Carter's Blue Sky Reunion. Next up, I think, will most likely be Brenda Jackson's In The Doctor's Bed followed by Susan May Warren's Heiress. Gotta hurry up. Steven James's The Queen should be showing up in the box any day now.

Christy (blissbooksandjewels) | 3 comments This week, I'm working on Healing Hearts: A Collection of Amish Romances by Beth Wiseman. It's a collection of all her novellas. I've already read one of them that was part of another anthology, so reading the other two in this book shouldn't take long at all. :o)

This is a question for anyone. Do you ever feel like you rush through books because there are so many you want to read?

I've felt that way lately. I'm going to make a concerted effort to slow down and enjoy the stories... the characters...a little more.

I've definitely felt pressure to hurry up and read in order to meet blog review dates. I think my blog readers appreciate getting a review so I really try to read the book before the blog date. That stress can take away from the enjoyment.
