Because if snape didn't help Dumbledore Everyone would die the end. Seriously though snape was the key player and had so many chances to kill harry and switch to Voldemort's side. He wasnt perfect, but he was the best character. besides lily was the only person he ever truly loved and she was gone, just because he called her a name. wow. Anyway he had nothing to fight for but he still protected harry.

Natalie In some parts yes, I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate how he treat her son through the years though. Or all the other children.

Brigid (Resident of Hogsmeade) YES!!!!
She wanted to stay friends with him, but he kept hanging out with and doing dark magic.
When he gives Harry the memory at the end and all that stuff, and earlier has turned from the dark arts, she totally would hve been proud of him.
The sad thing is, we never got to see memories of how James redeemed himself, and that's something I felt we really needed to see.

Helen Morgan I think she would have been conflicted. On the one hand, Snape was working to protect Harry. On the other hand he did remain an absolute horrible bully throughout the time Harry was in school at least, up to the extent that a student's worst fear was him, which I believe Lily would have despised and if she had been alive she would have happily taken her wand to him. Not just for Harry but for Neville too. And any other students he bullied. We saw in his memory her reaction to bullies, and she only liked James when he grew up and stopped being a bully.

Emmerson Rodgers Nope. Snape was unnecessarily malicious towards children. His abusive childhood would explain, but not justify.

Diana OBVIOUSLY YES

Elizabeth Bennett Totally he protected harry all though his life. Even though he was rude to him he never getting back at him for what his father did. And remember when Dumbledore said that Harry potter must die. And Snape said that you were just raising him to be a pig to slaughter. And said it was wrong and shouldn't happen.

message 108: by K (new) - rated it 5 stars

K Matthews Yes because in the end Snape was protecting Harry.

message 109: by Rhi (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rhi i do not think that lily would be happy or proud of snape. he was bullying the kids that went to the school he taught at just because they were not slytheran. he was mean to her son just because of who his father was. he was mean to neville because he was the one that had allerted atthories to his parents by being loud. he was a bully when he had been bullied as a child.

Luna I think she'd be mixed; on one hand she'd be grateful for the protection but on the other, she'd be furious about his treatment of Harry.
