Kate (littlekate1) | 574 comments Ha ha ha, I hate apostrophes, my thesis supervisor is a bugger for noting any I get wrong and for me it is easy to do. Glad she acknowledged her mistake but I can't understand why she would reduce (or increase) the rating by 2 stars for what are surely just cosmetic issues?

message 652: by Katy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katy | 2662 comments I like foul justice (: what about Centre justice? Obstructing justice? I'm not very good at this!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I'm not a romance writer. I don't like zombies. I can't cook. And I don't think I could write a thriller...

Can I ever have a best-seller? :)

Not with that attitude! (: Think positive!

Those aren't the only genres about (: You'll find something that fits, don't worry!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Hehe.

I've got some things up my sleeve. I've abandoned the idea of the thriller about the zombie-chef love triangle though...

;)

message 656: by Katy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katy | 2662 comments That would make such a great story! haha

Are you going to write a sequel to 'The serpent in the glass'? (:

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I have ideas for two sequels, but at present I'm working on a lot of other ideas, including three books I've partially written, two of which I had started some time before Serpent was released.

I have so many ideas for stories...

I'm getting a laptop tomorrow, so hopefully that will facilitate more opportunity for writing ;)

message 658: by Katy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katy | 2662 comments Well.. Hurry up! haha. You'll definitely get the motivation on this forum! We'll bully you until you get them done ;)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Please do! I'm working on a parody at the moment. It negates having to think up a plot ;)

message 660: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) DM, Thriller and Romance are the top genres to write it... So... I wouldn't personally write a Zombie story, can't stand reading those types of books.

I think I'm going to pick FOUL JUSTICE, it works on so many levels.

14,000 words to go! ;-)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Well, I can't write romance because I'm a man ;)

All my books shall remain zombie free!

A thriller sounds like a possibility for the future, though I've no idea what elements to include: murder(s) + suspense + detective + clues + resolution? ;)

Foul Justice? Yes, sounds good. What about Hard Justice? or Tough Justice? Tangled Justice?

message 662: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Thanks for the suggestions but I need it to tie in with Football! lol

Men can write romance, that's a silly statement! ;-)

Today I have Barbara Silkstone's Inspirational story on my blog. Drop by and take a peek.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Hehe - I was only joking. :)

Football, eh?

Crossing the Line? Playing Outside the Box? Killing Fields? Original Shin? Yup, maybe Foul Justice is best ;)

message 664: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) LOL! I knew we would agree on something eventually DM! ;-)

message 665: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) So I'm declaring Rosemary the winner of the competition.

Congratulations Rosemary, as promised you will get a mention in the acknowledgements. xx

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Pfft..you could at least put "Whatever you do, don't ask D.M. Andrews for ideas..." in the back matter ;)

Well done, Rosemary!

message 667: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) LOL! Now there's a thought! ;-)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Exhausting! Great at night sleeps from 11pm-7am and manages to stay dry.A few wee accidents during the day.She has 2 pet beds one in sitting room and one in kitchen but we are having a constant battle over the sofa. She was relentless in her determination to get up beside us.The current plan is when she gets on,we get off and move to chair, she then gets down.We are socialising her with kids, postie and friends but can't start with other dogs till next week when her immunity is established. Both my sisters have dogs so we are visiting them next weekend.Oh Oh just as I am typing this Phil has turned the sofa to the wall, she certainly can't get on it now.

message 676: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) LOL! Oh dear. I'm a firm believer in Cesar Millan's training techniques. http://www.cesarsway.com/channel/dog-... See what you can find here.

Last week he had a small dog that kept jumping up on the chair, he picked it up and placed it gently on the floor again. Repeating the exercise as needed. It takes him a few minutes! It took us a few months to break our dogs of the habit, they're almost 12 though. Can you drag her bed to close to your feet, by the settee?

He says, no talk and no eye contact. I call it tough love! lol

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Thats where it is normally is Mel,till she starts dragging it around, she has it on top of her at times, walking around like a giant tortoise. It is hilarious.
Phil is out at work this morning and Holly has been a wee angel.Phil is such a 'gentle giant'he is killing her with kindness, where I give her boundries,it's always been the same with our dogs.Pecking order: Sarah, dog,Phil I don't know who is the most difficult to train! Still Those are the Qualities that have kept us in love for 30 yrs.HeHe.

message 678: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Ah! That's so sweet. Congratulations. My ex got the seven year itch! lol

I'd love another puppy but I'd find it a problem devoting the time to train it. Which really saddens me as I love dogs and there are so many out there who need good homes, especially in France. ;-)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Woke up to a wonderful review in the States for Impeding Justice this morning.

This review is from: Impeding Justice (Revised version) (DI Lorne Simpkins thriller (Book Two)) (Kindle Edition)
London's Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins has been chasing The Unicorn, for 8 yrs. This is one sick customer, and he's made it his goal in life, to beat Lorne.

This is Red John meets Criminal Minds kind of action. If you have a weak stomach, this is not for you, but it's a page turner, in the best tradition. I haven't read Book 1, Cruel Justice, or Book 3, Final Justice, but for sure I'll have to get book 3, as book 2 is definitely a "to be continued".

I can't believe that London's law enforcement agencies are unarmed!

M.A. Comley (melcom) Sarah this video is especially for you. http://mediamania.blog.com/2012/03/07...

;-)))

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Thank you Mel,that was soooo funny. Holly met the cats today(they adopted us over winter),this is the first we have seen of them since Holly came, though they appear to be sleeping in the greenhouse!

message 682: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Oh no! Hope the fur didn't fly! lol

I nearly called my Jack Russell Holly but settled on Angel instead, she lived up to her name but is sadly no longer with us!

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments No she looked totally bemused. We called her Holly as she was born on Xmas Eve.The plus is if I mistakenly call her Molly it won't be too obvious! It's awful when a much loved pet dies but their memories help keep them in our hearts.
We fostered a cocker called Snooker, the owner had chose the name because he had huge testicles.I mean the dog,not the owner....

message 684: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) LOL! You made me spit my coffee out with that one. Thank you! ;-)

message 685: by Libby (new)

Libby I think the talking dog is one of the best videos I've seen... thanks for posting it! How did they do that, I wonder....

message 686: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Probably took hours, Libby. I know it would with my two! lol

Talking of doggies. I just had a great review for It's a Dog's Life.

This review is from: It's A Dog's Life (A DI Lorne Simpkins novelette) (Kindle Edition)
Mel Comley is known for her thrilling, swiftly-paced stories, and she's done it again in It's a Dog's Life. However, she's also succeeded in spinning a tale that is also emotional and eye-opening--one that will touch your heart and have you thinking long after you've finished the book. Bravo, Ms. Comley!

I love writing topical things and raising awareness to heinous crimes. Just like I did with the child-trafficking aspect in Impeding Justice. ;-)

They're tough topics to write about but worth it if it changes people's attitude.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Great review Mel.

message 688: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Thanks Sarah. x

I've also had a great review from Linda today on her blog. It's interesting to get an American's POV on Impeding Justice.

This is my story from the Indie Chicks anthology.

Have a good weekend folks. I'll be trying to sort out my new laptop, it's a French keyboard so you'll have to forgive me if I make any typos over the next few weeks. ;-)

message 693: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Thanks to Elena Blow for her five star review on Final Justice, this book always gets neglected! lol

Only 4000 words to go on book four now. I think it'll be finished by Weds. That's when the real work begins, the editing. ;-)

message 694: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Grab a copy of Passion, Fire and Fury if you haven't read it already!

message 695: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Passion, Fire and Fury is still free today (the link is above)

Want a laugh? We usually have a piece of fruit cake every day that we heat up in the microwave for 30 seconds. Well today Mum's going out with my Aunt and told me my cake was in the microwave. I put it on for 30 secs and opened it to find a piece of cream sponge splattered on a plate! lol She thought she'd give me a treat as she was going out and leaving me! ;-(

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Awww - how disappointing is that! But why on earth did she put it in the microwave? Wouldn't the fridge been better?

message 697: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Yeah, it's habit I think. Poor Mum, she tried to burn the house down this week too!

I came downstairs and found the glove we use to put the wood on the log burner was on fire, and she hadn't realised! Scary ;-(

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments As long as she doesn't put the cake on the fire and the glove in the microwave!

message 699: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Haha! It's surprising what we find in strange places. ;-)

message 700: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Managed to type THE END to Justice Four today!

A big relief, now just the editing to do! ;-)
