Had a lovely five star review from someone across the pond, it's always nice to get them over there, especially as the police procedures are so different.
Oh well, off to meet today's target again.

This review is from: Impeding Justice (Revised version) (DI Lorne Simpkins thriller (Book Two)) (Kindle Edition)
Lorne is a police officer trying to hunt down a truly evil man, involved in human trafficking, drugs, weapons, terrorism. No matter what the police do, he always seems to be one step ahead of them; and then he kidnaps her daughter and uses the young girl as leverage to torment and humilate Lorne, whilst continuing with his criminal plans.
I found this to be a great story; although I felt that it seemed to take some of the plot from the film "Taken". It has a really great pace to it, and I felt that the story was quite believable throughout. I have seen first hand some of the less pleasant aspects involved in the modern trade in human life, and it can be far worse than is portrayed within this book.
There a few issues with the formatting of the text in the version that I downloaded for my Kindle; words running together, some bad paragaraph separation etc. but this did not detract too much from the book. Of course, this is part of a series; I haven't seent he others, but will probably try to track them down.
A little bit too adult for younger teenagers, but a good read overall.
Nice to wake up to on a miserable Sunday morning. ;-)

I've told her to give you a wave on Facebook. Hope she does...

I had a 3 star for Cruel Justice from someone who just doesn't understand Lorne's character! I think if characters don't fit into a certain mould people find it hard to warm to them.
To me Lorne's character is like Kay Scarpetta, feisty and determined! ;-)

I hate people. They're just stupid. Who do they think they are? Why do they think that if they don't like it, it means it's rubbish? Grrrr !!!!!! ##@*%$ !!!

I had a lovely five star from someone today who rated a Lynda la Plante book with four stars. That made my day. ;-)

Frosty here today, so I'm going to get my head down and get some writing done. A little behind on my challenge as my aunt came for dinner yesterday and she can talk for England! lol

Make friends with the angels, who though invisible are always with you.... Often invoke them, constantly praise them, and make good use of their help and assistance in all your temporal and spiritual affairs.

I woke up to a fantastic review on Impeding Justice today, which incorporated kind words about Cruel Justice too. ;-) Makes it all worthwhile.

After being impressed with cruel justice I downloaded this one and it does not disappoint at all. The book opens with Pete, Lorne's partner, being shot and from there on it is a battle against the clock and against the "Unicorn" a criminal Lorne has been hunting down for 8 years. He is a master of escape and has no end of people that he is controlling. Lorne is desperate to catch him particularly after he starts targetting members of her family.
Tensions still exist between Lorne and husband Tom about the amount of time she is spending at work but these tensions don't seem to be as severe as in the first book. It will be interesting to see whether they have further improved by the time the third book is read.
My only criticism was the ending...guess I'll just have to download the next book though

Sorry you've been so busy though, hope your workload slackens off soon. ;-)
