Please, this book
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/85...
is the duplicate of
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/96...
Only the second one (9667246) should remain.
Thank you

Neither of these two books (as per the author's website) were ever published or, as far as I can tell, ever existed. The titles are similar to two titles in another series by a different author (Stephanie Barron's Jane Austen mysteries - Jane and the stillroom maid and Jane and the unpleasantness at Scargrave, respectively).

It's a duplicate of this one: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/65...
(Needs super)
Thanks

Merged 784 - it helps if the two titles are separated and combine together ready for merging - means we merge in to the correct edition

Just a curiosity: how do you become a super?

But they don't exist...even then they're still left?
Thanks,
Jenn

I think in this case (783) the poster is right that they are under the wrong author. I would change the author, combine and delete. I'll wait for a second opinion though.

Agreed. Go for it."
They're gone. Thank you rivka :)

I have never found a copy of this book either. "The Sporting Chance" is a short story found in "The Saint Around The World", so it is probably either a renaming of that collection or a mistake. I called the publisher, and they said that when the got enough orders they would pull the book from the Library of Congress and reprint it. Good luck! There is no such title at the Library of Congress.I tried to verify this book at LC and WorldCat with no success.

Re 808, not being able to find copies of a limited-printing book from 30 years ago is hardly proof that it does not exist.

True, but when there is no record of it in the indices where it is purported to be I thought indicative as well. I tried a world-wide search for that book using several meta-search engines for locating rare books, and the only place it showed up was one reference on Amazon, which was where the original import came from. I realize that this is still circumstantial evidence, but it is awfully hard to prove a negative.
If I were to follow this up, how would you suggest I proceed?
