I don't know how I missed this thread? Jason and Hugh, your stories were HILARIOUS!!!
K, we want to hear more details and enjoy the book!
K, that is so awesome. He seems like he'd be an interesting guy to listen to. I'm glad you got the new book!
I've heard from another Lucky Austrailian reader, that the book is typical Scarecrow-Rielly stuff but a good fun read with a twist!.
Can't wait.
Can't wait.

Thank you. I could tell the Cow stories but... I don't know if there is any interest in those.

Actually, it may be tomorrow night for the cow story. I was unusually swamped with stuff tonight.
You guys are all nuts, cow stories, snake stories even a beaver story. I've got a really good pic story I might share later lol.In the meantime I have got my hands on a hard copy of Matt R's new booked, signed at that. I'm going to finish reading it, throw a review on my blog and then I was thinking of having a competition for the book. Any ideas? Maybe the best animal story lol.

That's a bit unfair Eileen, most people have never seen action. I like the grumpiest retired sailor/nurse idea lol. What about both in a retirement home with plenty of action.
Hey, hey, hey. I don't get any action, I'm married with two kids below the age of 7. I'm also not in a retirment home... just a retired sailor.
I'm sure you would get some action if you arranged a babysitter a bottle of wine and a candle lit dinner ...... hang on a sec when did this get R rated? From memory the one thing Matt R's novels lack is any form of romance lol.
There's a little bit in Ice Station but it's more of a "pre-romance" thing that comes out in the end. There are also hints of romance in Temple, but so far, no real, romance. Bear in mind, I mean Romance in a generic-layman way, not in a way that meets any strict genre criteria.

About half way through 'Army of thieves' now. Having suspended all prior knowledge of weapons, tactics and realism I am enjoying it for what it is. Fast paced pure escapism. So far it's ticking all the boxes for a fast paced action adventure novel.Jack
I love Matt Reilly and can't wait for the new one to come out. I have read all of his books and loved them all, even Contest. My hubby likes Jack West more, but I loves me some Scarecrow!
I've only read the first two books in the Scarecrow series but I already love Matthew Reilly! My fav character is Mother!! After I've read all the books in the Scarecrow series I think I'll try the Jack West ones or maybe Contest....
I wish to extend my condolences to Mr. Reilly as I see that on his website he posted that his wife passed away in early December.

I saw this note from keri and wanted to respond but, I don't know what to say. It's awful anytime a loved one passes, My heart goes out to him.
Ok, I just stayed up really late last night finishing Ice Station, because...well, there just really isn't a good place to stop reading in that book!
Can't wait to start the next in the series!

Yep, his action sequences are on crack with a dose of ADHD thrown in for good measure. Too much fun!

The Robert Ludlum and Friends The Hades Factor(Covert One) books are like that. No rest for the weary!
I've got two more Matt Riley books on the Kindle to get into.

It just occured to me that I owe a "Cow" story (to go with those wacky red eyed crazy beavers and the snake who came to dinner.
(Don't worry. I'll save it for a rainy day. No torture on the Matt Riley Thread today.)

You have to read back a few posts (way back) and you'll find that we got off on a tangent talking about Matt-Riley-Critters. Jason and I shared some True life animal stories.
Ok, got it now...I looked back and those stories were hilarious! I'm up for a good cow story anytime...and today is a rainy day where I live.
