The_Mad_Swede | 10 comments Hi,

I just tried to add Essential Captain Marvel Volume 1 (ISBN 9780785130598) to my library, and was surprised to see a review of my own pop up. Upon closer examination, the volume is incorrectly listed as an edition of Captain America Volume 1, and so I tried to amend this by deleting the information about original title etc (which seemed to be the cause of the problem). However, the book is still listed as an edition of the other book.

As the content in no way is the same, I would definitely like to add it to my collection, and later on also review this other book as well (which currently seems impossible). Could someone with the know-how please help out here to sort this issue out?

Thanks!

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments Just for your reference - should this happen with a legitimate combine - there is a help topic on reviewing more than one edition.

Ava took care of this problem, but I explain to you how it's done so you can do it in the future. :)

On the author's page there is a "combine books" link, this appears on the bar above their book list that says "Books by AuthorName." On the book page, a "combine" link appears on the bar where the "Other Editions" are located.

Clicking on either of these links will bring you to a page that lists all the books attributed to an author (so long as that author is the primary author of the work).

On this page you can check the box next to two works (where a work is defined as the combination of editions) and click "combine" and they will be combined as "Other Editions."

To separate one edition from a work, you can click on that books specific "separate" link.

If there are multiple editions that are wrongly combined, the "separate tool" link for the work will bring you to another page where you can sort out which books belong in which edition.
