^ | 86 comments I've created a new edition record for CS Lewis's 1955 ABRIDGEMENT of his work "That Hideous Strength" (1945). I then combined that new edition record (Pan Books, 6th printing 1965) (paperback) with the edition record for the original work (hardback, publ. 1945 Bodley Head).

Being somewhat new to this, I'd be grateful if some kind knowledgeable person would please kindly check that I've either done the right thing; or let me know where I've gone wrong, and what I should have done.

Many thanks

p.s. This comment has been delayed because I inadvertently and stupidly mis-posted to the wrong discussion thread at my first attempt (earlier this month). Sorry.

I've had a look and they seem fine. Though I would of put the abridged/unabridged in the edition field and created a librarian note that the books were pre ISBN, which prevents other librarians deleting them.

Next time though can you link the exact books you'd like someone to look at, please. Makes it much easier :)

^ | 86 comments AOK. Good point about linking; I can see that would have been helpful.

Thanks also for your valuable point about pre-ISBN, of which I have lots of books. I'll revisit those particular edition records.
