Help Me Kick Start The Rest of the Summer

Of the following authors.. James Herbert, Graham Masterton or Michael McDowell.. who might help rekindle the horror genre for me for the rest of the summer and into the fall ?

I name Michael McDowell as my favorite horror author, so I think you can guess whom I would recommend.

I'm gonna say Masterton for the same reason as Tressa is saying McDowell

Masterton. He has a great sense of horror. Warning: He's very graphic. I suggest starting with his earlier works, especially THE MANITOU.

If you want an oldie but a goodie (and very hard to find) James V. Smith Jr. The Beastmaker and The Beast Stalker I think are lost treasures.
