Hi,
Of the following authors.. James Herbert, Graham Masterton or Michael McDowell.. who might help rekindle the horror genre for me for the rest of the summer and into the fall ?

Masterton. He has a great sense of horror. Warning: He's very graphic. I suggest starting with his earlier works, especially THE MANITOU.

If you want an oldie but a goodie (and very hard to find) James V. Smith Jr. The Beastmaker and The Beast Stalker I think are lost treasures.
