Bella pulled Joe along while she talked about random things.
Joe was nodding along not really paying attention to what she was saying.
Bella stepped onto some sand and started to sink, "hey, your getting taller!"
"No your getting shorter. Really fast, that's not good." he said watch her sink.
Bella looked down and saw she was knee deep in quick sand. "Oh no!"
"Uh, uh." he said as he picked up a stick. "Grab this!"
Bella reached for the stick, "got it!"
He tried pulling her out.
Bella's wet hands slipped and she sunk up to her waist.
He grabed her hand and pulled as hard as he could.
Bella didn't budge, but she did sink further.
He planted his feet in the roots and pulled harder.
Bella was up to her arm pits in sand, and sinking faster.
"You're getting outta there!" he yelled and pulled with strenth he didn't know he had.

Bella slowly moved upwards, then the sand pulled harder and she sunk up to her neck.
HE pulled harder and harder, he grabed a tree with one hand and Bella's hand with another and tried to bring his hands together.
Bella was chin deep and crying, "it won't work! Just let go!"
"No! You have people waiting for you at home! Who miss you and are trying to belive that you're still alive!" He yelled pullimg harder.
Bella had a flash back from the plane, "actually I don't they were on the plane, let me die like them!"
"What about friends? Or exstended family?" He asked pulling even harder.
"Well yeah, but I bet they think I'm dead anyway." Bella said sinking almost to her mouth.
"I'd they'd be over joied when you came back alive, and not still here in the middle of a quick sand pit." He used all of his reserved streanth to pull.
Bella didn't answer, her mouth was covered in quick sand, but she pleaded with her eyes, "get me out of here."
He tugged one last time and she started comming out.
Bella's mouth came into view, but it was covered in quick sand so she didn't talk. She tried to pull herself out but that made her sink even more.
"Aw! Come on!" Joe yelled, then he said comly, "Try relaxing your body."
Bella didn't move, she couldn't. She relaxed and closed her eyes. She began to rise to the surface.((I just read an article on quicksand, its rarely more than two feet deep :P))
(Then how do people die in them?)"That's it. Just relax." he said sothingly.
((You mean in the movies? They don't, and theres been about maybe a hundred deaths in the last 300 hundred years? I don't know, but unless your less then two feet tall, you'll touch the bottom and the worst case scenario is wet sand in your shoes.))Bella slowly rised to the surface.
When she got out he asked, "Are you okay?"(Let's just say this one is really deap. :P lol)
((Yeah. :D :P))Bella didn't answer, she was in the middle of a panic attack(she was sleeping with her eyes open).
"Bella?" he asked. He felt her pulse and still felt it. He relaxed and sat down next to her. He took a good look at her. She's kinda pretty. he tought.
Bella blinked and sat up breathing heavily.
"You ok?" he asked, his arms kinda sore.
"Yeah, but I need to change." Bella said looking at her very muddy clothes.
"Lets get going then." he said, then he helped her up.
Bella smiled, and for once in her life, was quiet.
He lead Bella back to the camp, content. :)
