Greetings, Shaheen! Welcome to the group!

Hello Salahuddin! Welcome to the group! What are your favorite books from Egypt?

I'm Anouk, 32, from Belgium. I like the outdoors and my favorite country I've traveled to is Norway: simply stunning.
I love to read travel stories and get to know diff..."
Hi, Anouk! I totally agree with your sentiments about Norway.

Hi Jax! Welcome to the group!

I'm Arda from the Netherlands. I'm married and have a 4 year old daughter. I read around 20 to 25 books a year (and they won't all be for my challenge). I mostly read on my e-reader but do read paper books as well and sometimes listen to audible books (although I haven't for a while).
I actually joined this group in 2011 and started an ambitious trek around the world in books but got stuck while reading the 5th book which resulted in me bailing on the challenge altogether.. But I've decided to pick up my challenge again where I left off... I just realized I recently read a book set in Norway so I finally crossed that one of my list and I will be continuing to Finland.
If anyone had a good book recommendation for Finland, please let me know!

Hi Arda! There are so many good books set in Finland. My favorite author from Finland (so far) is Tove Jansson. I have read 7 of her books. I highly recommend The Summer Book. It is a very quick read, too.

I'm Everly of Bethel, Maine. I love reading books set all over, past, present and future. I look forward to armchair traveling with everyone!

I am Nilanjana Haldar. I use Goodreads to read good books and discover new authors.
I am very happy to have discovered this group.
Hello there Sam, Linda, Diane, Lahni, Jean : )
Nice meeting you all!
I would love to learn about the rules about this group?
Where may I find the rules? Are there polls too?
Thanking you,
My warm regards,
Nilanjana

Nominating a book?

My first book, a cosy mystery set near Lake Iseo in Italy has just been published. It's called "She Left No Note". Apart from that, I also love hiking in the mountains and travelling.

Thank you.

I enjoy reading sports (mostly baseball) and history (read a lot of revolutionary war and some prohibition).

Welcome to the group, Patrick!

Since I was young, writing and storytelling have captivated me. I've immersed myself in various genres and styles, constantly honing my skills and developing my own unique voice.
In my career, I've had the privilege of working as a ghostwriter, breathing life into over 200 books across a wide range of narratives. This experience has allowed me to explore different genres under various pen names, keeping the creative fire burning.
Additionally, I've taken on the important task of translating numerous Czech literary works into English, bridging the gap between cultures and ensuring the global appreciation of Czech literature.
As the founder of Czech Revival Publishing, I've set out to showcase the richness of Czech literature and culture. Through my publishing endeavors, I aim to foster cultural exchange and preserve our heritage for generations to come.
When I'm not engrossed in the world of words, you can find me embracing the beauty of nature alongside my faithful canine companion, Sir Richard. Nature serves as my sanctuary and a wellspring of inspiration.
You can see some of my work here (under my maiden name and not how it's listed here): https://www.amazon.com/s?k=kytka+hilm...

Welcome to the group, Zoey!

Don't be so sure about that ;)

My name is Heather and I have slowly been working on my book travels. (50 countries to date) I’m looking forward to getting back into this challenge during the new year!
Currently reading Patrick Radden Keefe’s Say Nothing, A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland. Excellent, fast reading nonfiction.
Thank you to everyone for sharing all of their titles!

Hi Heather! Welcome to the group!

I introduced myself a long time ago. Though the settings of the books I've read, am currently reading and want to read in 2024 aren't wide-ranging, their authors are:
Finished Cosmos (1980), which is a nonfiction set, for the most part, in outer space, by Carl Sagan (1934-96), who was from the United States of America.
Currently reading:
Between Black and White: GROWING UP BROWN IN APARTHEID SOUTH AFRICA (2023), set in the Republic of South Africa, by Ganesan Abbu, who is from South Africa.
The Adolescent (1875), set in St. Petersburg, Russia, by Fyodor Dostoevsky (1821-81), who was Russian.
The Mysterious Island (1874), set both in Richmond, Virginia during the U.S. Civil War and on a "mysterious island" in the South Pacific, by Jules Verne (1828-1905), who was French.
Want to Read:
Rookwood By W.H. Ainsworth . Revised. by W.H. Ainsworth (1834), set in England, by William Harrison Ainsworth (1805-82), who was English.
