Welcome to the group, Danuta. Oh, wow, how wonderful it must be to own a vineyard and winery! I'll bet it is beautiful.

been a member of this group for some time already, been sitting quietly in the corner and observing people. Thought it's about the time to say hello finally.

Sinistra, Ultima Thule is such a beautiful place but so far from civilization. It must be challenging to live there but completely amazing at the same time.

I'm from Kosovo and I adore reading. My favorite genres are fantasy, science-fiction,I love English, American, French and Japanese literature.I would love having more friends here o..."
Hello, Miljana! Welcome to the group! Who is your favorite author from Kosovo?

Hi, Kirin! So glad you have found the group and look forward to seeing your challenges next year. You will have a few months to plan your "trip". That is one of the best parts!

Thank you for the welcome. I'm glad you like it, because I love it!! As for the authors, you can try Cynthia Mc Leod for example. There are more, but I would have to check if they are translated into english already, I'm not really sure.

I love to read (of course) everything except erotica (of course), but my favorites are historical fiction and poetry. Currently, I am reading City Sticks: A Collection of 50 Poems by A.H. Sewell, Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow, and Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. Any to-read suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for accepting me into your group. I look forward to meeting you all!

I LOVE historical fiction but find it hard sometimes to find well written novels. One of my faves for summer reading was the Outlander series. Have you read those? Yes they do have romance but the entire series is based in historical facts and places and people. I loved it as I was really tired of reading Everything Henry the VIII! I loved BC when I was a nanny there. It's really beautiful. Happy reading and please send me any History Book suggestions. I know there is a group here called Historical Fictionistas...take a look at them maybe. Good Luck!

Hi, Cheyanne. Welcome to the group! Congrats on your newest addition. Loved Memoirs of a Geisha. IT is one of my all-time favorites. Have you read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan? If you like Memoirs of a Geisha you will probably like Snow Flower. I love historical fiction, too.

I am Elyse. I am 22 and currently in college. I really love to read as well as being with friends and watching all kinds of movies. I read many different genres of books but my favorite genre is historical fiction.

Thank you.

For total escapism I love cosy crime and good children's stories with fantasy and magic. It's great to find a good book to read to the children (well that's my excuse!).

Welcome to the group, Pam!

“Had we never met, I would have quietly grown old without challenge or interest. How dull," she replied.

From New Brunswick, she trails them to Quebec City where she finds a woman posing as herself with another husband. Meanwhile, her brother-in-law recovers from a gunshot wound and wanders in the wilderness until he meets the Patriote Party's fanatical element of Reformers and is swept into their rebellion.

I've joined this group as a motivation to read more books.. I used to LOVE reading and devoured up to a book per day as a teenager but sort of slacked off once I've started university. With so much stuff to read for my classes I just didn't have much motivation left to read in my spare time.. Now that I've finished university I'm hoping to get back on track and start traveling the world via books again. My first stop? Afghanistan through the book : "And the mountains echoed" by Khaled Hosseini.
I love his writing style and have also read his other two books. Any suggestions for similar books are much appreciated! I'm looking forward to travel to many countries through reading this year and wish my fellow book-travelers a great journey :)

Hi, Cece! Welcome to the group. I love Khaled Hosseini's books! I hope he writes another one soon. Happy reading!

Hi, Marlene! Welcome to the group! Honduras is a beautiful place. I visited it for the first time a couple of years ago.

I am in my early 30s and love the surrounding Southern Nevada/Western Arizona location I recently relocated to from Minnesota two years ago. I am a mom to a gorgeous baby girl with fur and four legs...she is a soon-to-be five-year old toy poodle. I live with my best-friend of 10 years. My work-experiences is limited to my years as a student but I have written a Christmas short story and many poems that I am quite proud of.

Welcome to the group, Jadie!

Hello, Trish! Welcome to the group! What part of Atlanta do you live in?

Actually, I live in the suburbs - Woodstock."
You are not too far from me. I live in the west Marietta area.

Oh! That is close! The smallness of the world is infinitely amusing in this age of the internet

Glad to see that I am not the only "newbie" to the group. I joined for several reasons: to read more books that I would not pick myself and join discussions about the books (never been apart of a 'book club').
I graduated with my B.A. four years ago and miss excellent discussion.
I sought out a book club uncertain of what I was looking for. I found this one and thought "this is perfect!" as I am (also) not traveling as much as I would like [at the moment], so I'm going to join all of you and do it through books.

Hi, Lindsey! Welcome! I hope you will discover many new books.

My name is Elizabeth. I'm from southwestern Ontario, Canada. I'm nearly twenty-two years old.
I love reading and learning and experiencing new things. Lately I have been very interested in reading books (hearing music as well) from a variety of places and I figured a group like this would be a perfect place to start finding some new things I hadn't heard of yet, or push me towards things I had heard of but hadn't yet tried. I enjoy traveling but unfortunately will never get to go to as many places as I would like and this also seemed like a great way to experience new places (without spending thousands of dollars on it).
Hoping this group ends up being what I look for. :)

Hi, Olivia! Welcome to the group! I love Barbados! It is such a beautiful island and one of my favorites in the Caribbean. I hope to visit again soon.

For anyone who has read my book

In the chapter "Great White Dive" I come face to face with my greatest fear, a great white shark and this video was filmed by some friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irBzn...

Hi, Julian. Welcome to the group. Your video reminded me that I used to have nightmares about sharks all the time so I began shark diving in an effort to conquer my fears. It worked. I haven't had a shark nightmare since.

Probably the most succinct introduction we've seen here. Welcome and well done, Prue.

I just discovered Goodreads two weeks ago and I can't believe what I've been missing al these years! I love to read and have been traveling around the world with my husband the past few years, now back home in the Netherlands. What better than to combine reading and traveling and join this group?
Because I'm new to this group I have decided to start the Tourist-challenge this year, see how far I get!
