Hi, Mélodie! Welcome to the group!

I am Camilla! I am from the western coast of Norway, currently living in Northern Norway with my husband. I am a trained teacher (upper secondary), but work alongside with my husband running a store. Wrote my MA on English literature and Education. Love reading, love travelling, and this is the first group I am joining here in Goodreads. Looking forward to follow it and getting inspired!

Hi, Camilla! Welcome to the group! Northern Norway must be so beautiful. How cold does it get in the winter?

I'm Jim from New Jersey and joined this group because it seems interesting. I haven't read around the world yet and have never traveled outside of North America, but it's worth a shot!

Thank you.

Thanks for the beautiful visual, Camilla. It sounds like such a lovely place. The weather is warmer than I would have expected. Sounds like my kind of place!

I am new to this website, but I am an avid reader. I am in the Navy and currently live in Georgia. I love traveling, and have been to many places. I am excited to read these books!

Spent three summers as a kid visiting my grandmother in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, so was immersed in the metric system. 0 C is 32 F, the freezing point of water; and 100 C is 212 F, the boiling point. From either point, every degree C is 1.8 F. The only temperature at which the two temperature scales match is -40.

Hi, Karen. Welcome to the group! I have read two of your favorite authors and have enjoyed them both.

Hidden high atop Power Mountain is the secret Land of "The "Littluns"
For "Littluns", "Hootsy-bootsy" can mean several things, including, Hello; How are you? Good day," or as a response to some ..."
Welcome to the group, Mark.

I'm Liselott & im Swedish, though I've been living abroad for more than half my life now. I've been 'stationed' in East London for the last 17 years and before that in Rome for quite a few years. I love travelling, languages & foreign cultures. To read books set in different parts of the world is my passion. I'm not in a position of travelling due to an injury and economically because I lost my main income because of that too. So this is really exciting!
:):):)

I'm an Englishman with an American wife and we now live in the North East of England. We have two young daughters who keep us busy and drastically curtail my reading time!
I love exploring the world through the printed word and I'm always eager to hear other peoples' opinions on whatever I am reading or have read, so I'm looking forward to making good use of this group.

Hello, Mal! Welcome to the group!

I am Sookie, from India. I have been active on this site for less than a year. I love traveling and love getting to know new cultures. This year, books set in different parts of the world is something I want to read more. Looking forward to new reads and newer opinions!

Hello, Sookie! Welcome to the group! Who is your favorite author from India?

Hi, Julianna! Welcome! Reading and traveling are my favorite things to do, too. You have some great goals. Being multi-lingual would be awesome. Not only could you speak the language in many of your travels, you could also read all those great books that haven't been translated into English! ;)

Hello, Barbara! May you have a very enjoyable reading trip around the world!
Cheers!

Hello Diane, thank you.
I love reading Arun Shourie, who writes non-fiction. [I will be reading Amitav Gosh this month and from what I have read, his writing could be something I may come to love. :)]

I will have to look for Shourie's work. I have been meaning to read books from Gosh for a long time, but haven't started yet. I have heard lots of good things about his books.

Hi, Sandra! Welcome to the group! I get grumpy too when I can't find time to read.

Welcome to the group, JT!
Hello. My name is Kelly. I am a stay at home mom who has recently acquired more "me time" and using that to start reading more often. I will give any book a try but enjoy reading thrillers and suspense. Once I can get my hands on a copy of The Woman in Black I will start that, hopefully be done by the May end date

Hello, Kelly! Welcome to the group!

My name is Caitlin and I am a newish resident of Seattle, WA (we moved here just under a year ago). Washington is actually the 6th state I've lived in. I really love reading and travelling. My bachelor's degree is in anthropology so I have a fascination with other countries and cultures. My most recent foreign travel was to Italy (Florence, Cinque Terre, Bologna, and Venice) in the fall. I've also been to France, Mexico, Canada, and French Polynesia. My husband and I are hoping to travel to Japan next year. This group sounds like a great opportunity to expand my reading!

I'm new to this group as well, but I want to say welcome to Seattle! I live in the Gig Harbor area, but my kids live in Seattle, so we are there a lot, in fact we will be there later tonight!

Hi, Caitlin! Welcome to the group!

A terrible 7.8 scale earthquake has hit my country Nepal with the aftershocks still continuing. Many of our houses and temples have been reduced to ashes and thousands are dead, dying and trapped. Many more are hungry and homeless and we need all the help you can give. Your help and donation can make all the difference in the world. Please Donate what you can and if you cannot donate then pray for us.

We've been hearing a lot about this since yesterday and wish you the best. At times like this I recommend a donation to fine organizations such as Doctors Without Borders.

been a member of this group for some time already, been sitting quietly in the corner and observing people. Thought it's about the time to say hello finally.
So I'm Sinistra, a bookworm from Ultima Thule, crazy about books & reading, travelling (and sports!). Nice to see you all with similar interests! Feel free to poke me and send friend requests, if you want to know me better :)
