Welcome to the group, Katie!

Welcome, Sophia!

I'll bet yoga is quite awesome in India. I am an armchair tour guide because I'm not able to do much actual traveling these days between work, school, kids, and general lack of funds. :(

Thanks, Jocelyne!

It once took me 36 hours to get from Ireland to Virginia (24 hours of that time being my birthday).

Welcome to the group, Toocreatives!

I too loved Prague and Ireland. Is Fussen the town in South Bavaria? If so, I was there too and loved it. Actually, we traveled along the Romantische Strasse, the romantic road, or something like that and all the medieval towns along the way were so quaint and stunning! Today it is 94 in LA. I hope you have nice weather in SF. I plan to plop myself some place cool with Cleopatra!

I'm 28 from Detroit, MI. Always been a traveller but now I'm on my second year of living abroad. First was 1.5 years in Georgia and now I'm living and working in Poland. I am a librarian by degree but an English Teacher by trade. I'm hoping to work in the middle east next year and save the money to travel to South America the long way (through Asia and N America via Bering Strait) in 2014-2015 Dream big!
Thank God for Kindle! Nice to meet everyone here.

Hi Justine, where in the Middle East are you going to end up? I've spent many years in that part of the world. Love it there.

Good for you. How lucky you are to get all this travel experience while you are young. One really gets an education through traveling.

Of course Saudi Arabia pays the best but I'm also looking at contracts in Oman, Qatar, and UAE. Just looking for now and will apply over the summer.

Hello! Yes, Fussen is in southern Germany - loved being so close to the Alps! Quaint is a wonderful word to describe the small towns there. I look forward to future chats!

Welcome to the group, Jennifer! I loved Ireland! I really enjoyed San Francisco, too.

Welcome, Justine! What a wonderful opportunity you have! I wish you much success in your future endeavors and travels.

Yup, those are the places to make money ... I tended to hang out in the poorer countries :-)

Hi Justine! Where in Poland are you? I visited a number of years ago and went to Warsaw and Krakow. Close to those areas? I loved it there!

My mom was born in Lodz (a few more marks on the letters in Polish :-), of German stock and just barely escaped at the end of WWII as the Russians were taking over ... I've always wanted to visit there ...

I think total I was there for 7 days. I'm just sitting here thinking about it and I really loved Poland! I went down to a small town I believe it is Zakopane and did some hiking in the mountains. I also went to Auschwitz. What an experience. I loved the perogies too:) yummy...

I lived for a while in New Hampshire and I had the opportunity to travel a bit in New England and go to N..."
Rhode Island is beautiful in September, try and visit some not so known places like Beavertail and Goosewing Beach. I feel lucky to live here. I love the ocean. Happy travels!

Found goodreads earlier this year and am having so much fun!
Read everything, but mostly fiction.
Love animals, especially dogs.
Live in the city, wish I lived in the country.
Perfer mountains to the beach.

I'm an Australian author signed with Trident Media Group in NYC. I'm stoked that this group exists, because this is the precise reason I decided to become an author. Everything I write is with the aim of inspiring people to visit those places. I think literature is undervalued as one of the biggest driving forces behind travel. Forget tv, radio and shiny posters; I've read books which have forced me to travel far and wide, and so I hope to do the same by communicating the beautiful places I have visited. My book

Hi, Micky! Welcome to the group! Where is Deerfield Beach? I think the perfect place is one where there is both mountains AND beach. I am not close enough to either one.

Welcome, Anthony! You are so right! Literature is undervalued as one of the biggest driving forces behind travel. I am very grateful for authors like you who inspire us readers and make us want to see more of the world.

Deerfield is just north of Ft Lauderdale on the Atlantic side of Florida. The highest elevation down here is Mt Trashmore, the county dump. So far this spring has been beautiful--wet, but fairly mild temps.
Hurricane season starts in three weeks and last until Novermber. Not my most favorite time of year.

I'm Stephanie from Ontario, Canada and love to read and travel! If I'm not travelling I'm reading about new and exotic locales. So excited to join this group!

I am Esther, from Quebec, Canada.
I will not do the 80 books challenge, as I would definitely fail. Not only I am not sure to make it to 80 books in a year, but I read a lot of SF and Fantasy, not really World challenge material. :)
I will probably do a Circumnavigators thread tough, when I am done digging around to get the rules. This will help me get off my beaten path and explore new places/authors.
I look forward participating the monthly reads and other smaller challenges when I can.

Hi, Esther! Welcome to the group! I think you will enjoy circumnavigating. I look forward to "traveling" with you!

Welcome, Sanoj!

I live with my partner, Helen, our daughter Madeleine and two cats, Alice and Pheobe. I like to write when I can and read pretty much constantly. It's been really interesting reading about all the people in this group and the book recommendations are fantastic. There is no better feeling than to find a new author you like and know that they have a series of books you can explore.

I am Anita from India. I Just joined and am excited to travel around the world through books.
Hello everyone. I'm Elizabeth. I'm from Pennsylvania, where I've lived my whole life. I'm an avid Thoroughbred Racing fan. I enjoy reading Christian Fiction, Mysteries, Biographies/Memoirs, and, of course, horse racing books! I came across this group and just love the concept. I also want to try some different genres and love the variety I'm seeing here.

Welcome, Anitha! I am glad that you joined our group!

Welcome to the group, Elizabeth! That's a cute horse in your profile pic.
Thank you Diane. That is a photo of retired racehorse Fittipaldi. I owned a VERY small share of him during his racing days. He is now living on a farm in New Jersey with a wonderful woman who loves him to pieces!

Awwwwwww. Sounds like Fittipaldi is having a happy retirement!

I'm an Australian author who loves to travel, and loves to write. So, it seems to me that I get to combine both of my passions. I've just posted my book set in Cambodia in the book shelves. It's called Let Angels Fly. If you've ever explored the ancient wonders of Angkor Wat, seen the remarkable town of Siem Reap, or if you love Cambodian food, you might like this book. I fell in love with Cambodia and just had to use it as the backdrop to this book. Great to meet you all. Cheers, Noelle.

Hi Stephanie. That's great. Visiting Cambodia changed my whole perspective on what's important. I tried to capture it in my book. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks. :-)
