Hello EveryoneI am Shawn and I live in Tampa Florida. I love reading books that give me an insight to the lives of people from other countries and who lived in different times. I am an avid traveler who has been to all 7 continents and have spent a month in almost 40 countries. I also recently completed my doctorate in International Business. I have a special love for emerging market and developing countries.

Welcome to the group, Shawn. You are well-traveled. I am so envious. What has been your favorite place so far?
That is a hard one I like so many places for so many reasons...Vietnam, New Zealand and Bosnia have a very special place in my heart but the highlight of my life so far was going to Antarctica on a Russian Icebreaker.

Antarctica is one of my dream holiday destinations. Ah well - one day!
Hello! My name is Nalini and I have been an avid reader of non-fiction books. I particularly enjoy reading descriptions of the settings for each book, and revel in learning about new places through the pages of a book. I have two daughters and a wonderful husband and spend time mostly between Kansas and Florida.

Hi there! I currently live in Orlando, FL where my husband & I are based as full-time missionaries. We travel internationally & throughout the US with teens, young adults & families who are passionate about mission work. I love travelling, discovering new cultures and learning about new people. So that's why I'm doing a Around the World in 80 Books challenge this year! http://joyreads2013.tumblr.com/

There are quite a few memoirs out there written by missionaries around the world. I am so glad you have joined us!
Oh, uh, hello. I've been lurking for the past year or so, I think, so now, I'm going to introduce myself here and take up the challenge! I figured it'd be better to introduce myself first before I just post in the challenge thread. I already have a few books in mind that I want to read. ^_^Oh, right, my name's Hannah. I'm currently a college student in the southern region of the US. My hometown is about 20 minutes away from the Gulf of Mexico if you drive by car at about 35-45 miles/hour. That's a pretty cool fun fact if you ask me.
I've been working on a map of the books I've read in the past. It's located here: http://goo.gl/maps/PsnVn
I hope to fill it with lots of new books, and this challenge is sure to help me ^_^.

Hi, I'm JR an author currently based in London. I have lived in Dubai which inspired me to write my latest novel Sheikhs, Lies and Real Estate about the rise and fall of Dubai, the worlds fastest city. My book has been causing quite a stir and some measured have been taken to ban it for its explicit and unreserved description of the Emirate. I would be grateful for your thoughts on the book....

Hi, I'm Jolie. I live outside of Pittsburgh and I've been readying my travel/book list for more than a month now after I discovered your group. I love to travel but don't get the opportunity to go as often or as far as I'd like to. But I regularly visit Toronto and some recent trips included Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Looking forward to readings lots of books set in many wondrous spots in 2013.

I almost squealed when I saw this group, I've been looking for something like this!Hello, my name's Johanna. I currently reside in Canada, just turned 21, and I am ADDICTED to books. I love a wide range, but I always seem to come back to books with a history or culture of different countries. I also love a good fantasy, dystopian, or mystery read here and there.
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you and getting some great recommendations! :)

Hi Johanna, welcome to the group! You will be right at home here with lots of other book addicts!
I suppose it would be the polite thing to do to drop a line here.I'm KJ. I've lived in 12 different cities among three countries, thus this seemed like the place for me to find recommendations for future homes.
Hi guys. I'm Sean and I'm 16 from Norwich, Ct. I read, run, write essays, repeat. I want to learn to snowboard and surf but I am far from a water based creature so i stick to land and I seriously dislike the cold( despite my current New England livings) I have a serious case of wanderlust and live my travels through books. I'm fairly new to goodreads so I am trying to get a hang of it. I like it so far though

Hello all! I'm Fliss and I'm from Australia. I am addicted to reading - so addicted that I literally have to have a book by my side as often as I can. If I couldn't read I'm pretty sure I would stop breathing and when I die I plan to be buried with as many books as possible. My favourite genres are history, historical fiction, crime, biographies/autobiographies and pretty much anything else. The only genres I'm not into are romance, sci fi and the paranormal.

Not too far away. I am in Cobb County. Small world.
Hello, I'm Beth and I'm a book blogger at www.toofond.wordpress.com. I'm participating in an Around the World challenge this year, and I was happy to come across this group, which seems to be a great resource for book ideas and information. I have tentative choices for all of the countries I'll be reading about with the exception of South Korea. If anyone has recommendations of books set in this country I would really appreciate it!
Hello everyone! My name is Natasha, I live in Maryland and am a unique and diverse individual with many passions and interests. I was a History and English major, but am now beginning a journey in the medical field by starting Medical School. I love reading and writing and want to continue challenging my mind with with literature. I love anything that broadens my mind and arouses meaningful discussions. So here I am eager to participate in the literary adventures that this group will take me on!
Hello. Only just discovered this group and the challenges, and think this is a wonderful initiative. My name is Wim, a 40 something from a typical commuter town in Belgium. A keen reader, and enthusiastically traveling: as well on the road, from my armchair, as in my imagination. I am looking forward to give the Tourist challenge a go. But even more to discover ideas, books and places, via the suggestions and travels of the other members of this group. Thanks.

Wow. Too cool.
Just came across this group, and couldn't help but join. I have to admit, the O Canada challenge caught my eye, as I'm a Canadian with a goal of seeing every province/territory in my country. My favourite way to learn about a country is to read the experience of someone who's already been there. Great to find a group of people interested in reading their way around the world!
