"Wha.... you're confusing. Are you or are you not her? And why does it matter? The horse won't know if I'm apologizing to it." He shrugged impatiently.

"I am her." Zerina snapped, which wasn't very usual, she was normally a quiet girl, but death had opened her eyes just a little bit. "And as for the horse, it's an animal that was just freaking attacked by you and your... vampireness? Right... that's what you are yes?"
"Yes, I am a vampire, and it still doesn't matter if I attacked it. Apologizing won't make the horse feel any better. It can't understand me." He tilted his head. "What is your name?"
Zerina rolled her eyes. "The horse would feel better, it understands." She said seriously, even though she was seeing his point, she honestly didn't want to give into him in anyway. "As for my name, I am Zerina."
"Yes I do, Mr.Whatever-Your-Name-Is." Zerina said, putting her hands on her waist before glancing at the baby horse.
He grinned. "It's Bentley. So, if you really think that.... you should go talk to that horse. Really. I'm curious to see."
Zerina glared at him. "Fine, I will." She said, holding her head up high as she walked towards the horse that he'd hurt. She glanced at him before she started whispered to the horse, running her fingers through his thick mane. "It's going to be okay."
Bentley rolled his eyes. "It doesn't understand you. Do you think it's going to talk back, as well?"
Zerina threw a stern look in his direction. "Shut up, okay?" She asked, even though it was more of a command. She looked back at the horse, knowing that it was understanding everything she was saying, just by looking at her.
Bentley mimed zipping his lips and then stood there, completely still and silent, his eyes wandering around... and lingering on her neck, her hair fallen away from it, a few strands stuck. The vein pulsing with life...
A moment later, Zerina turned to him, her brown eyes flickering over his facial features. "Is it nighttime outside?" She asked curious, letting her hands fall away from the horse.
Bentley nodded, his eyes still on that vein. "Yes. It is 11:14 pm, and the sun set four hours and twenty-five minutes ago."
Zerina smiled a little, grabbing the reins of the horse. "Perfect." She said, pulling on the poor horse, but she could tell that it would be fine, despite the fact that it had been eaten from. "And by the way, I'll suffocate you in shadows if you think about attacking me."
Bentley smiled, pulling his lips back to show off his fangs. "Oh don't worry, I'm no hungry right now. You do smell quite nice, though. Where are you going?"
"I'm going to ride a horse." Zerina said quietly as she led it along. "You know, the one that 'can't' understand me." She sounded bitterly, passing one of the stable windows to see the stars in the sky. "It's so beautiful outside..."
Bentley rolled his eyes. "Hold your horses," he grinned. "I'm just saying the truth. An animal can't understand you."
"The animal can understand me... listen." Zerina said, turning her attention to the horse. "Will you please go outside?" She asked the animal, watching as it nodded its head and started going outside. "See jerkface!"
"Coincidence," Bentley shrugged. "And it doesn't insult me if you call me a jerk. It just makes you seem juvenile."
"Whatever you say." Zerina muttered as she existed the stables out into the moonlight. It was a perfect fall night, really.
Serenity walked into the stables exploring. She had just gotten to the school and had no clue where she was going or really where she needed to be. When she found herself in the stables she smiled going up to a random horse and softly rubbing it's nose.
